He took it easy on the weekend according to doctor orders. He really wasn't in much pain, but limited movement. Made sure he wasn't lifting things etc.
The only thing I remember being different is he couldn't mow the lawn the first week. Otherwise everything was normal. My husband never misses an opportunity to be dramatic and he barely complained lol.
that’s so funny you say this, bc the lawn is BAD right now and he’s moping that he will have to mow it tomorrow before work. He said “I have to do it before, I won’t be able to do it for weeks after” which is what prompted my post
H got his when the kids were really little so we were you know barely keeping our head above water on a daily basis. I remember this was the thing that sent me over the edge a bit lol. I didn't expect it. Easier to know these things ahead of time!
Well my H had a panic attack, the doctor declined to proceed and told him that he needed to reschedule at the hospital so that he could be sedated, and then he never rescheduled. They never even touched him and he still talks dramatically about how traumatic it was.
So... hope your H's goes better!
Mine talks about the humiliation of having to show two doctors his junk. Like. Sir. Redirect that complaint to someone who cares
Haha, H was in the room for my last uterine biopsy before my hysterectomy and he was like, “I will never complain about anything ever again.” 😂😂😂
H's was not too bad. His had soreness for maybe a week or so, not debilitating or anything, but part of that was that he picked up our youngest too soon. So, do not let him pick up your youngest or anything over the weight they tell you.
But no, barring a rare exception, he will not be incapacitated. can you hear my eyes rolling??

H had it on a Monday morning. I think he laid around that day, and maybe some of the next. I went out of town on the Thursday after (so 3 days after) so he was fully in charge of the kids (5 and 7 at the time) and had no problem whatsoever. Overall his recover was very easy.

OK, he needs to go buy his own frozen peas. When us women get procedures we do all the plan ahead stuff, he can too. Yep mow the yard and pay some teenage neighbor to do it next week Dude.

Oh yeah, I don't mow the lawn, mon frere. And Lucy can do the litter box, since the cats don't even LIKE me. I had morning sickness the entire 9 months with both boy children, he can suck it up. Showing two doctors his junk, try being of ADVANCED MATERNAL AGE, buddy!

Mine had it one morning & was feeling almost normal next day but still took it easy. Infuriating, he was given the same dosage of Percocet that I was for a c/s (I know b/c I still had the bottle in the med cabinet so could compare).
It was no big deal. He drove himself there and home on a Friday and the laid low for the weekend with lots of ice. He was back at his desk job on Monday.
H has enough sense not to make any stupid comments. The one bit of advice he'd offer is to buy snug briefs or a cup for afterward. He thought boxer briefs would be fine and ignored the doctor's recommendation. They didn't offer enough support. Any wiggling was painful for a week or so.

DH had to do it twice. The first time he barely complained (and he whines about everything), but it didn't take so lol. The second time it was the typical 2-3 day recovery that others have mentioned.

My husband had his done on a Friday morning and was up puttering around the house the next day. He was definitely sore and didnt do anything crazy for 3-4 days, but he was not at all incapacitated.
My H's was fine. The next day we went to the zoo and walked all around, no issues.
I will say that about a week later, his scrotum got EXTREMELY swollen. We were worried and my H talked to the doc, who said it was normal. It went down and was fine shortly thereafter. It didn't hurt, just looked bad.
DH had it done on a Thursday while I was away with the kids. He relaxed and worked from home on Friday, and on Saturday he came to meet me. I had to laugh though, he was given some heavy painkillers "in case" while after having a bad episiotomy and several stitches I was given 1 advil.
My H is the cautionary tale- to the point where a guy heard it, cancelled his appointment, and now has a 3rd kid because of it. He wound up with some of the one in a million reactions they tell you not to worry about, like insane swelling and bruising. TMI, but the man only wears skinny jeans and he couldn’t put them on for close to two months. Was in sweatpants only for weeks and then moved up to relaxed fit jeans (which looked hilarious), and he was fully bruised from his waist to mid thighs. It was fucking wild. He called his doctor when the swelling and pain first started, and I guess a lot of guys say that when really it’s just the normal soreness, so his doctor was like “send me a picture of your balls and I’ll tell you if you need to come in.” Got a message back right away like “ NOT NORMAL COME IN ASAP” lol. We joke how the only dick pic he’s ever sent was to his urologist.
BUT! It worked. 9 years later and no unplanned pregnancies over here, so while it sucked it was totally worth it and also I had a 3rd degree tear from Ollie so I felt bad but not that bad. Lol.
ex-H didn't remove the frozen peas for about 24 hours. He acted like he had a "man cold" for about 48 hours moaning and acting like he'd cut off an arm, but was apparently just fine to go to work on Monday--desk job. I think he took a week off from working out.

I have been partnered with 3 men who have gotten them (someone has to help with population control?)
exH: I don't really remember his recovery, so it must not have been much of anything. At 6 weeks post partum after our second baby I drove him to the doc for his consultation. Hah.
dating: Brought him a bag of peas and he was fine within a day or so
fiance: He had a relatively traumatic procedure; numbing cream, or whatever, didn't really work so he could feel most of it. Eek. He drove himself home and when I got home from work that day he was high as a kite on gummies on the couch. Had some pain for over a week or so, but after that, not much!
I have little sympathy for any of them (the global them) given what we go through during pap smears, childbirth (have they ever had 4+ people watch them poop? I don't think so), etc. Suck it up dudes!
My husband had his 2.5 weeks ago. Office procedure is the norm here, he drove himself. He said he thought he was going to pass out when they injected the anesthetic (hot/nauseous/etc). Then lounged with frozen corn (peas were sold off at the dollar tree!) alternating tylenol and ibuprofen (after the first 24 hours).
Biggest nuisance to me is he couldn't carry the baby, change diapers, console her. And of course she turned into a daddy's girl that exact moment.
He was off work 4 days (physical job) and is achy on and off now depending on how strenuous the day was but well managed by OTC meds.
