If there is no obvious way to identify items I often put them in a safe place close to where I found them on case the person traces their steps. I would not go through the efforts most of you would so maybe Iām not a good person!

Yeah in this instance I would have moved it to the curb, snapped a pic and posted that to the neighborhood Facebook page. I figure the chances are better that they will retrace their steps, vs finding a post somewhere, so I just leave it.

As an FYI to anyone who is just now adding medical contacts in the notes section I have listed my children with their birthdays, blood types (which yes I know will not be trusted š) and allergies. That way their info also appears for anyone who may find my phone in an emergency (assuming I am unable to provide the information).

This is a great idea! I recently introduced my mom to the emergency contacts/medical info before my parents started a 6 day road trip, but my dad doesn't have a smart phone and he's really the one with the medical history that needs immediate attention in an accident. He does wear a medical alert bracelet, but I will suggest this to her so she can add his info in her phone as well.
