Work update: My boss quit. I don't know if it was her choice or not, but that's none of my business. I'm just hopeful things will get much better now.
Is she gone or is she working 2 weeks notice? If she's still there I would give zero fucks if she tried to give you work AT 5pm. Tell her you will get right on it in the AM then goodnight!
We have outdoor engagement pics tomorrow afternoon and it's going to be 103. We're trying to decide if we suck it up because it's only 30 minutes, or if we use a less than ideal indoor location. If we reschedule it will be a couple of months because of FI's work schedule.
I think the answer to this depends on how you and your FI handle the heat. You want to look your best for this, I'm sure. I know I couldn't manage even 30 minutes in 103F and look cute. If you can, good for you! I think that's what I would focus my decision on.

We have tickets to a charity hockey game tonight and I am just not feeling it. My sleep has been thrown off the last few days. I need a few nights to get a solid sleep and not wake up multiple times. My allergies are killing me which is also causing tooth pain from my sinuses.

I had an appt to get botox over lunch. For some reason, it was more painful than it's ever been. AND I now have a bruise by my right eye from this. Ugh. Also, the pricing was confusing, but they ended up giving me all sorts of discounts when I asked about it, including one if I reviewed them on Google right then. LOL. So I did, b/c an extra 10% off was worth it.
This bruise better go away quickly b/c I have A LOT of in person work events later this week and next week.
icedcoffee, I have a similar TMI issue going on. I have a huge bump in a very sensitive area. At first I just thought it was an ingrown hair, and maybe it is (I get them frequently), and I probably messed with the area too much, but now it is very inflamed. I'm not really sure what to do or what I can put on it.
I think I posted a while back about getting my IUD replaced after 8 years...today was the big day. I am in so much pain from cramps, I don't get a period with Mirena so I forgot how much it suuuuuucks.

TMI but if it is on your labia, I had a cyst in a gland there and it was awful. Soaking in a hot Sitz bath a couple of times a day for a few days was what helped. By the last day, if it hadn't burst on it's own, I was gonna go in and have it lanced.
Yes TR, that's where it is! It is so big that its making using the bathroom (and I'm sure other activities too lol) very uncomfortable. I really don't want to have to go see someone for this, so I'll try the bath thing or some hot compresses or something.
I just spent the last 1.5 days at a work conference. I feel disgusting from the heavy conference food and going out to eat last night, and the bunch of drinks I had last night with coworkers. It was really great to see my team though and we had a great time. Not ready to start our school year on Monday though, I still have a ton of work to do.
DS's 7th birthday is today! He spent the night at my parents since I was gone (H's work hours are long so it was just easier to leave him with them). They have been spoiling him; he opened some gifts this morning and they took him to a train museum. They're bringing him back down here in an hour or so and I can't wait to see him.
I still have a little guilt about not having a birthday party for him. I didn't this year because I had to help plan/host both a 40th birthday party for H and a retirement party for my FIL so I just didn't have the bandwidth for a 3rd party, plus we were running out of weekends that it would work. A few people have asked me today what we were doing for DS's birthday and I said he got to have a sleepover with his cousin last week and go see a movie, and tonight we'll give him gifts and take him to eat and out for ice cream (he doesn't like cake), and when I say it out loud, it just doesn't seem like enough. :/
He also starts first grade tomorrow which is still hard to wrap my head around! I feel like we had so much more information last year before school started (about what his day would look like, etc) and I have nothing this year besides who his teacher is. I'm sure that's more common in K though to get more information. I hope he has a good day.

Mine happened to occur a few weeks after my second miscarriage so I was going in for a follow-up with my PCP anyway and mentioned this tiny lump (it was pea sized at that time) and she said it was probably a cyst and to do the baths. It swelled up to probably a large grape size before it finally burst and yeah, wearing underwear hurt, walking was painful, it was terrible. I sat in baths with epsom salts multiple times a day.

I just asked for a 20% hourly raise. When I started this job at the beginning of the year I'd never worked specifically in this area before, so I started on the lower end of the range, which I found totally appropriate. But now I know what I'm doing, and my boss asked if I could work more hours because he's happy with my work, so I figured go big or go home.

This is one reason why I love this board - it's good to know that weird stuff like this happens to other people, too! I've had this happen randomly a few times, too. It's been a few years now but I'm sure it will happen again at some point. TMI super gross - for me it has popped and then healed fine so I haven't seen a doctor for it, but you're really not supposed to pop something like that in your own (due to risk of infection) so I don't recommend doing that.
Bodies are both fascinating and horrifying with all the things that can get off track!
Oh my. I have a new person working. It is supposed to be a help for me, as we need 1.5 people. She is a retiree that wanted to get back into this field. Sounds great!
She is computer illiterate, and has not done any work with posting charges or payments, which is the main thing we do. Literally never. I don’t want to have her come back next week. I need to chat with my boss at lunch. :/
I don’t think I’m being too harsh, but maybe I am?
Update: she’s be let go at lunch. My boss called my big boss and he had noticed some issues when he’d walked by, and gave the go ahead to just end things today.
So I’m hiding out waiting for my boss to get it done with. :/

I just got back from the doctor. She put me on a 5 day antibiotic and told me to come in sooner and take care of myself. She was like “would you have come in if you weren’t traveling tomorrow?” And I said no and she laughed and rolled her eyes. LOL
Sounds like she would have cut it open if I weren’t traveling tomorrow.

I’ll get even more TMI then since people don’t mind, lol. I think it did pop on it’s own literally right after I posted this. I noticed blood and it’s not my period because I just had that. It seems smaller now.
rubytue - she said family bathing was an autocorrect failure, but she was leaving it. 😂
Also, I had a failed ablation and wound up having a hysterectomy and I’m so happy I did. If you want to go that route and your doctor won’t support it, I’d keep pushing until you find someone who will.
I know, I saw the addition. I was just commenting about my thought process when I first read the sentence 😂. And I plan to discuss options tomorrow. I went in 3 years ago asking for a hysterectomy, but got the ablation. If I remember our conversation, I think it will be on the table. I just haven’t been back because I got sent to gyn-oncology for the past 3 year.
It’s fitting to follow that by sharing I went in to the office today for some HR security crap, and the lady put her hand on my belly and said “what’s this?” With that knowing look. I stared at her for a minute slack jawed, before I could say “this? This is fat.” I hate people.

The HR person did that??? OMG wtf. Nobody should do that, but that seems like the kind of thing people would complain to HR about so you'd think she would know better. Implication aside, you don't touch people, especially places like a stomach!
I just found out that close friends are getting divorced. I didn't see it coming and am sad for them. I just have two more work days until my cruise next week!

I had a cyst that would come and go and was incredibly painful. I finally sucked it up and talked to my family doctor - a 60 something man - about it. He cut it out, which required 8 stitches and was its own version of painful hell, but I'm so glad I had it removed. When it was enflamed it was debilitatingly painful and it got bigger over time because I ignored it out of embarrassment. So don't be me. If it continues to bother you, talk to your doctor. As evidenced by all the responses here, it's actually really common and easy to treat.

WWAMWMD?
What Would A Mediocre White Man Do?
Definitely channeled that energy! I feel like the worst he can do is say no, it's not like I'm asking for something delusional like double, so whatever.

I had haircuts scheduled for my daughter and I at 315 today (on my day off.) I missed a call from the salon while driving there to push my appointment back an hour. I have another commitment. They said they left a message (they didn't). I've only had my hair cut by this person a couple of times, and it's been fine. Nothing special. I won't be coming back. So irritated because the salon has all divacut certified people.
