While I very, very rarely drink soda as an old I was legit raised on Pepsi. My mother loves when I bring up that she used to put Pepsi in my younger sisters bottle. Ah, the 80s.
Coke always and forever. I don’t drink much soda but it’s perfect for migraines and extreme fatigue days. Pepsi is nasty and serves zero purpose. I’d still choose it over death though.
But the last time I've tasted either, I was still having single digit birthdays so the real answer is that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference no matter which one you gave me.
I can tell the difference (pretended I preferred Pepsi in the 90s to get swag in those taste tests) but it honestly doesn't matter. I don't really drink either. If I want a pop I'll generally have a root beer or gingerale.

Years ago (but less than 15) I was at the airport and saw a mom pour soda in her toddler's bottle. I posted it on a randoms and someone accused me of being too judgmental because "the child might have diabetes." Lol. As though soda as treatment for low blood sugar, in the 21st century, makes it better.

Were you trying to win that fighter jet?
Ha, no! Plus I think the jet ad in Canada did actually feature a disclaimer. These were little tasting booths Pepsi would set up at malls and other busy areas. They'd give you a blind taste test and ask which drink you preferred. If the preferred drink turned out to be Pepsi you got some swag like a toque or cheap sunglasses or whatever.

Definitely Coke.
I mean, I'm from the part of the South where "coke" is the generic term for soda. Growing up, you'd go to a restaurant and order "a coke," then the waitress would ask what kind, and you'd answer "Sprite" or whatever.
When I met DH he thought that was so, so weird. I think I've mostly stopped doing this now - certainly in a restaurant I wouldn't expect someone to read my mind and know I meant ginger ale when I said coke 🙃
I grew up in a Pepsi house. Like, liking Pepsi was a defining character trait of my dad's. It was always "Ken better have his Pepsi" lol. At Christmas, people would give him Pepsi brand items as a joke, that sort of thing. So, I naturally gravitated towards Pepsi when I drank soda because it was familiar. David is the only one in the house that drinks soda and he's firmly a Coke fan. He drinks Coke Zero, but prefers Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke. He has a whole tier system he rates it on.

It honestly wouldn't matter to me. I don't like either and can't tell the difference.
I did a blind taste test game for DS and his friends for his birthday this year. I think I got pepsi, coke, dr. pepper, root beer and a diet (coke or pepsi). DS and his friends did pretty well. Then H and I did it and I couldn't tell the difference between coke and Pepsi at all. They honestly tasted the exact same to me.
Pepsi is so far inferior to Coke that I don’t understand how they’re still in business.
Truthfully, they are fully subsidized by Frito-Lay. That’s how they are still in business. They can offer cheaper prices to businesses because they make up the difference by their (very profitable) sub brand.

I just remembered that my uncle drove for Pepsi when I was growing up so that might explain my preference. But I don’t hate Coke or anything. If that’s what’s available and I want cola, I’ll drink it.
