My husband is traveling for all of December, so I’m all alone in Christmas prep and it’s stressing me out.
Let’s share what we typically put into stockings, maybe we can get some new ideas.
My kids are 21, 17, and 7. I like things that each kid can get one of, like a book, a pack of candy, a lip balm, bath bombs (all girls over here). Also the little one is obsessed with money and the oldest two need money, so probably a small gift card or two. I’m pretty sure a $10 McDonald’s gift card would make my daughter’s entire Christmas.
My daughter is 8. Candy canes and skittles (her fave), rubberbands for making bracelets, lip gloss, Bluey grannies figures, smencil (scented pencil)- there's probably something else I'm forgetting right now.
My daughter is 10. Some ideas I have for this year:
- A rechargeable handwarmer (she throws shot put and goes through a million of the disposable ones every meet) - Cord Bracelets in her school colors with charms of her sports - Candy - Fortnite GC (is that a thing?) - Chapstick - Barnes and Noble GC - Fidget Toy
I usually hit up 5 below, Dollar Tree, Marshalls, and the Target dollar spot
This year I have a few ideas but will probably grab some other things I see in the stores too. DD has way too many nailpolishes and chapsticks though from previous years.
Starbucks GC
Socks
Candy - Xmas themed stuff from the dollar store
Scrunchies
Travel size personal care stuff - lotion, body spray, hairbrush, mirror, etc

So far this year I have baseball cards and Croc charms. Gift cards are a good idea, we are traveling for the holiday so I need smaller transportable items for the stockings. The smaller bagged Lego sets are always a hit too, or new fidgets.
I have one boy and three girls, and I think girls are so much easier for stocking stuffers!
Books, fuzzy socks, lip balm/lipgloss, nail polish, Starbucks gift card, hot cocoa, Christmas chocolates, little tubes of lotion or other cosmetic products, gloves, jewelry, fancy pens/art supplies
For my 17 year old DD: - small phone power bank that just connects directly into phone - charging cables and blocks (she’s going to college in the dorms in January so she’s going to need some extras I think) - laniege lip mask - probably some makeup stuff like mascara and eye liner - probably a few small gift cards to the food/coffee places on and around campus - makeup erasers - candy Not sure what else
For my 14 year old DD - power bank that connects directly to phone - laniege lip mask - makeup erasers - small jewelry - claw clips - heartless curls headband - makeup - candy
For my 12 year old DS - fish flashlight - football gloves - fishing lures - fishing line - probably some other fishing things or maybe some things relating to football - candy

DD: Fake nails (she likes the Impress ones), face/makeup stuff, fuzzy socks, dark chocolates. DS: Hand warmers, magnetic fidget pen, robucks gc, fuzzy socks, whatever odd candy I find when out buying stuff.
Sounds silly but my kids always get fun band aids and inexpensive electric toothbrushes in theirs, and they love them. Plus they're things we would buy anyway, so win-win.
I'll put other things in there too, but they get the above every year.

My son gets candy only. This is because I'm not into shopping for gifts or looking for small trinkets. I also am not into everyday items into stockings.

I plan to hit up World Market, if you have one year you I'd stop by. I went in a couple of weeks ago and they had so many fun candies and other little things. I wasn't ready to buy stocking stuffers at that time but made a mental note to return.

This is where I buy 80% of my stocking stuffers!
I am so jealous of World Market! Why we don’t have one is beyond me.
Socks, lip balms, candy, savory snack, sweet snack (like those Nutella dipper packs or pocky), ornament (I give them ornament every year so when they have their own place, they’ll have some), & soda (they don’t get it often)

fun socks candy interesting snacks - Pocky, seaweed snacks small game/toy or a book keychain small thing for their sport (lacrosse ball, mouthguard, hat) giftcard wallet ETA - I just got them both some "fancy" ramen and a ramen cooker/bowl
ETA: for me - fun pens, makeup, earrings, cute dishcloth. For DH - lottery scratch offs, Bag Ass Brick of Soap
I have boys, 5 and 9. Ideas that I have done or will do:
Sunglasses - fairly regularly, they lose or break theirs Chapstick Travel Kleenex pouches Small Lego sets or minifigs Goo jit zu Air clay Scratchers Small $ gift cards - Sam’s and Costco usually have great deals on places like cold stone or Krispy Kreme, and I can get $30 for $20 Non-candy snacks - sunflower seeds, hot chips, etc Swim googles Fun bandaids Key chains for their backpacks Temp tattoos Flashlights or flashlight head lamp Glow stars for their ceilings Underwear in current favorite characters
I try to use gift-giving events to give them things they need anyway, if I can. Anything that’s small enough to fit in their stocking goes in. A lot of times it’s replacement items for sports - socks, baseball belt, gloves, head or arm bands, glasses, etc. Same for school or art supplies they’ve used up and want more of, or any special toiletries they’ve asked for lately that they don’t really “need” but want - like color hair gel or bath bubbles.
popular items for my 6 year old son: bath bombs (he LOVES them) toothbrushes and fun toothpaste (target has fun flavors like monster eyeball juice, lol) scratch tickets temp tattoos bandaids socks chapstick small games (uno, phase 10, etc) little gift cards candy (we can recycle halloween candy) kinder eggs
My girls are easy for stockings, but I always struggle with my son. These are some good ideas! My kids would love scratch tickets.
For the girls, I get bath/body stuff, hair accessories, costume jewelry, cozy socks, etc. I've gotten my son a keychain to put on his backpack and some new soccer socks but need to work on more.
3 girls - 15, 11, 8 - Fuzzy socks, magazine, chapsticks, Wet Brush (we can never have too many), hair accessories, one of these Hershey Kiss candy canes, B&BW stuff. I use all those little coupons they send throughout the year for a free product and then put them in their stockings.

I am a single adult who still gets a stocking. It usually has candy, chapstick, bath stuff, socks, the life savers books if Santa finds them, a gift card, sometimes a candle, elastics for my hair, hand lotion.
I think any of that would be perfect for your girls!
