Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm WFH today so I'm on amazon listening to tons of options and buying some here and there. Unfortunately I don't have any streaming services (amazon music, Spotify, etc.) so I need to create my playlist myself. I have a decent base to start with, but I'll get tired of it quickly if I don't add to the library.
I am discovering artists' Christmas albums that I never thought of. Jethro Tull (interesting, did not buy), John Prine (like!), Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors (like some!).
I already have Beach Boys, and some Vince Guaraldi, Nat King Cole. I'm nostalgic about those from childhood, but some of the Beach Boys songs have to go. Merry Christmas Baby is pretty cringe.
My favorite is the Manhatten Transfer's The Christmas Album, great if you like jazzy stuff. My parents would play it while I was growing up, its' the sounds of Christmas for me!
I just bought the Album! We have the CD and listen in the car all the time.
We had this one growing up and we all loved it! My brothers and I keep trying to play it for our kids, but all of our kids are more into the Chipmunks Christmas songs, go figure.
I've been listening to the Holiday Hits Radio on pandora at work all month, it's got some good ones! I've particularly enjoyed some songs on it that I wouldn't have heard otherwise from: Kelly Clarkson, pentatonix, Lindsey Stirling (violin music), Lady A, and others. I listen to it for free, the ads are minimal to me (definitely less than spotify free). You can listen and thumbs up/down songs to curate it a bit ahead of time.

Surprisingly, Glee has some awesome Christmas music. I never watched the show, but I purchased 1 or 2 of the Glee Christmas albums to stream.
I also love the Indigo Girls Christmas album.
She and Him (Zooey Deschanel's singing group) has some really fun Christmas songs. Their version of Baby It's Cold Outside is my all time favorite (they switch up the traditional male and female parts).

You force it. My kids don’t love it, but they know that it’s the only way the tree is going up. It was the only album (literally vinyl) we had growing up. So they.will.appreciate.it.damnit!

Ha! We listened to the chipmunks growing up and my kids HATE it! I have great memories decorating our tree and hearing “ALLLVIN!”
