Yes, for work, but I can only think of once where I actually had to sign something. And TBH they are all temporary, it's usually about products/advertising campaigns for products that haven't been announced yet. I was on a call this morning where I was told the content was under NDA until X date, but I didn't have to sign anything.
I'm a tech writer and I regularly agree to embargoes, which is basically the same thing as above except it can come from anybody wanting me to cover upcoming news. Company A says, we're making an announcement on X date at X time, if you want to know what it is please agree not to write/mention anything until that time and we'll send you the info and/or set up an interview. Then I have a chance to figure out if I want to write about it, get the info and digest it, have time to write and my story can be out basically as soon as the embargo lifts.
I have never had to sign any kind of permanent/long-term NDA.
Never had to sign one but one of my family members signed a NDA as they were hosting an episode of a reality show on their property. The show aired and everything but part of the NDA is they can't disclose how much the show compensated them for the episode.

oooh what show??
The Bachelorette. I have no idea which season. This was a couple years ago.
He signs them pretty regularly as part of his employment. He is in the music industry. He has a pretty thankless job people do not realize they need. It’s funny when I ask how his day was and he responds NDA. I🙄 just tell me the good stuff!
lol omg my H is like this. I'm always like IDC about your actual job, what's the office gossip?! Esp in my early SAHM days I just wanted to know what being around humans was like 😂
