Hosting DS2's D&D group and they are so loud!! My ears! I know they need to get this all out of their systems so my only interruption is when I hear f bombs and telling them to knock it off. Lots of burping too.
SD21 moves to her first apartment on Monday. I spent today cleaning out her room in the basement. H is moving his office down there and then I'm taking his office upstairs (one of the bedrooms). My desk is currently in the living room so I could keep an eye on DS during school breaks but he's 11 now, and by summer break I will have A DOOR! I can shut out the noise when he's with his friends!
I'm going to also put in bookshelves and a comfy reading chair. I'm trying to decide if I should make it a moody space with darker colors, or light and airy. A ROOM OF MY OWN! Im so excited.

My husband plays in a D&D group as an adult. They are still loud. Lol.
I took C to see a play this morning with a friend and her mom. We ran into another friend and her mom there so we all went to lunch together. It’s nice to see how much C has blossomed over the last year. And I love the little tribe we are building. I know today never would have happened if I was still married.
I need a root canal and I’ve never had one before. I have a dental phobia although my current dentist is wonderful. I have a hard time with just fillings. He’s sending me to a specialist who uses nitrous. How bad are root canals? I hate the noise of the equipment most
No personal experience because I’ve never had one but can you listen to music while it’s getting done so you don’t hear noise? I play music when I’m doing procedures but sometimes patients also will want to wear their headphones and listen to their own music.

They came upstairs and one of them was asking the others if they were texting their parents to pick them up later (this was after 3 hours and Nerf guns were out too) and I said "No!"🤣
We saw about 95 or so patients today. Whew!! Now I’m at DS baseball game in the misting rain. It’s a scrimmage, so not a real game. I might leave before the 2 hours is up. LOL!
I made crookies today (cookie stuffed croissants)-- I used an almond crinkle cookie dough and they were amazing.
I had 4 kids and 2 moms over for a playdate today and my heart is full and body exhausted. We drank wine and ate cheese and croissants and now I will bloat for a minimum of 14 days. Our kids have been together since they were babies and I love that we still get together often. I really love the parent friends we made at our preschool.

It was in the lower 40’s today with a miserable drizzle all day and we sat through DS’s diuble header baseball game today. We last the first game by 1 run at the very end and got completely stomped for the second game. The boys did a good job of keeping their frustration in check but they were just deflated by the end. Tomorrow’s games have been canceled due to poor field conditions and thank all the gods for that.

Same. His is entirely online because they all live in different cities in WA state. Still loud.
I slept til 9:30. I usually go to the gym at 11, and here is it 10:40 and I’m still in PJs. Totally a want to want to go thing. Should… yep, I’m getting up. Now.
I did go! I had one slow warm up bout, and then a second one. Me vs 15 year old. I lost 9-10, but it about killed me. When I ended my workout on my Apple Watch, it said I spent 6 straight minutes in zone 5. So, I know my watch zones are off, but still… OMG it felt it. And that was it for me for the day lol Home by 1, shower, and couch slug. With one load of laundry done.
My H and I finally went to see Dune today. It was good but SO long, not helped by the fact that we got there almost 30 minutes early since we had been out and that was when we were done doing anything else we needed to do. Some dad brought a baby around 1 and a little girl who was 4-5 and idk what he was thinking. Predictably the baby fussed and the little girl ran by us at least 8 times. At least she was quiet. I guess it was nice he was out with the kids, but they probably would have enjoyed just about anything else more...
My dog is being a hyper maniac this evening since we were gone for all of 6 hours today and he needs ATTENTION. He is getting so spoiled with us working from home.
I’m over consumer issues. This week I dealt with 1. The class photo place cashed my check but forgot to print my oldest’s class photo. I figured it out when the youngest brought one home. Better than last year when I paid online and they printed both and left off their names on the orders so none came home. Since the photo place already did the school drop off, I had to drive to them for the copy or pay to have it shipped—for their mistake! (Luckily, it is near my work). 2. I have to get a medical form filled out by the pediatrician so my oldest can take his OTC allergy meds on an overnight school trip. They are requiring an appointment with him present. I have a HDHP. These are going to be two very expensive pills. I get everyone’s reasoning and am glad that this won’t hurt me too bad financially. 3. I mailed three packages priority at the end of last week/beginning of this week. One was delayed a day (always is), another disappeared for a few days and showed up 4 days late, and the last went to a small town in my state for a few days and finally made it to the correct state where it took two days to get to the correct city. Maybe it will show delivered by Tuesday? My Ground Advantage stuff seems to be moving better than priority. 4. I tried Tazo Blonde Tea Latte. It was a month past the Best by date (Thanks Target!) and my iron stomach failed me. I thought it tasted weird but I figured it was my palate. Glad I only drank a bit. 5. Amazon (again) did not check in my return and charged me for a non-return. This is twice this year (jeans and soccer cleats). I wish we had a local option that sold my husband and kid’s weird sizes rather than having to order, try on, and return 75%. The only local option that worked for cleats was a $275 pair which was out of the budget for a growing kid in rec soccer. They did refund me after I did a chat. We’ll see if it actually comes through or if I get to chat again.
Thanks for coming to my talk on consumer frustration. I’m going to go try to recover from poisoning myself.
H has a lingering cough from a cold and I swear to god, he coughs like he’s trying to win some kind of loudest cough contest. I may go to prison.
Mine will do this thing where, if he has a cold with the sneezes, after a day or two he’ll start saying “Jeeeeeez” after he sneezes. That is SO MUCH MORE ANNOYING than the sneeze! Like, yes, DH, you have a cold. Sneezing is a pretty common cold symptom! You don’t need to act like something unbelievable is happening every time you sneeze.
Do noise cancelling headphones work when you aren't listening to music? I've realised that one of the reasons my partner is pissing me off is that he is always making noise. Listening to clips on instagram or wherever. making phone calls. And i like and need quiet. I dont want to have music on, i just want to hear silence sometimes!!
My soundcore do, but they time out. I recently used them on a flight when I wanted to read. It worked well against the engine noise.
I cannot handle noise makers. One of my biggest pet peeves is people listening to their videos in public or speakerphone in public. My last flight a child who sat behind me both at the gate and on the plane watched one of those obnoxious high pitched cartoons the entire time. Get your kid headphones! tbf so many adults around me were equally loud, and I gave them stink eye regularly. My partner will play some stupid game for hours on end which is one that regularly has jangling coin noises. Hours! Why can't he mute it ffs?! You have my sympathies.
