The person I am interviewing with tomorrow said he would send me an email confirming the interview, directions, ect. I haven't received one. I should send him one, right? What do I say and what should the title be?
I'm so excited for you, RR! And I would make it complicated, too! It bugs me when a company isn't really on top of this stuff, because I think it's natural for most interviewees to have a little anxiety, and it goes a long way for them to give you everything you need nice and early to alleviate a little of that. It stresses me out when I have to contact them.
Anyway, Dr. L already gave you a good answer. I might add a wee bit of fluff, saying you're looking forward to meeting him or something like that, but that is obviously optional!
Subject: Confirming 09/28 Interview Hi, Future Bossman. I'm checking in regarding our meeting at X:00 tomorrow. When you have a moment, will you please confirm the appointment and send any special directions and instructions you'd like me to follow? I'm really looking forward to meeting you. Thank you, RR
Oh my. I sent the email and he just called me. He said he really hoped they would be able to meet my needs and that I would be able to meet their's. He also said they were so happy I was willing to drive over to meet with them that if I would tell them my mileage they would reimburse me. This is so not standard in my field.

YAY! This sounds so promising. I think the city sounds like a good one for you too, since there is a good group of MMers there for support.
