Cloth diapers Make DD's food Do most of our repairs/upgrades around the house Shop the sales at the grocery store Wear clothes/shoes until they are dingy Rarely get mani/pedi/eyebrow wax/haircuts
I don't think I'm very frugal, especially after reading this thread. I am far more likely to pay more for convenience than to go out of my way to save money.
I am "MM" in the sense that I have a good overall financial strategy, set goals, and work hard to get there. I take advantage of retirement plans, leverage well, and try to invest as much as we can.
However, I don't use coupons, make ANYTHING homemade, shop around at multiple stores, or buy in bulk.
I do check out Kindle books from the library, meal plan, and try to use cash for food/booze/fun.
I cook my own chickpeas from dried in the crockpot instead of buying canned. I save tens of cents each month. It's off the chain.
Haha, reminds me of some money saving blog I read. She had a guest poster list her top 10 ways to save money and "make your own breadcrumbs" was on the list.
You know, 'cause buying breadcrumbs is totally breaking the bank each month.

lol!
I make my own breadcrumbs (and croutons), too, but it's not to save money. We just hate to waste things if we can help it.
I was hoping it was a joke too, but you never know on this board.
Yes, this is a joke. Although my dh and I have talked about doing this for the teenagers who trick or treat as an initial offering (but we're not complete assholes--we would still have actual candy. But to see the initial reaction--I bet that would be priceless.)
-Cut and dye my own hair, buy drug store makeup, do my own eyebrows, never get mani pedia, only wash my hair every 2-3 days (I promise I don't look like a hobo) -Eat lots of beans and very little meat. -Stingy w/heat & AC

vinegar and baking soda for cleaning
I cut my H's hair which saves us a LOT of money since he has to keep it short for work.
reuse plastic grocery bags for trash bags
I dyed my hair back to my natural color so I no longer pay for highlights or color treatments.
My H and I have cut back and have very few bills: 1 vehicle that's paid off, basic talk and text phones + cheapest internet plan at home through the same company, no cable (just Netflix Streaming), and we currently live rent-free for his job.
