Thank you!! That's good to know. That's because the household survey also shows 582,000 of those new jobs were involuntary part-time positions. Workers told the Labor Department they took part-time work (usually 35 hours of less) because of slack business conditions or because it was the only job offered. Part-time jobs now account for 6% of all jobs, double their share before the Great Recession.
I am glad these people are working. That's better than nothing. But I suspect these are not long-term jobs since part-time work tends to pick up when school starts and probably continues through the holidays, but ends afterward.
So apparently former GE head honcho Jack Welch is at least one, if not the, source for the rumors of BLS number manipulation and everyone is pointing and laughing at him, including the WSJ.
I swear Jack Welch is losing his marbles. This isn't the first controversy he has courted of late.
Not that I don't think he is losing it in some ways....I wonder if he will be all

I'm running around today and haven't had time to catch up on what's going on, but based upon my cursory knowledge, Welch still hasn't been proven right. Welch alleged a purposeful orchestration by Obama's people to boost his reelection chances. At this point we have an allegation of one low-level individual in Philly with no discernible link to Obama.
