It was good, had a fight with Paul Sunday worked it out and went to the movies. We saw what to expect. Now I'm deciding what to do with my empty day today.

Morning all!
My weekend was good and bad.
The good: We got our new doggie! I posted a pic in my other thread.
She and Dozer are getting along swimmingly. Dozer is trying to play with her but she's not quite warmed up to him yet. I'm sure that will come with time.
The bad: I threw my back out halfway through a 12 hour road trip. I was crying so hard in the car on the way home. It's most likely a pulled muscle (I did the same thing a week or so ago) and it's feeling much better today.
The miscellaneous: Ruby (new dog) has maybe a few more issues than we were led to believe. I knew she was deaf - that's not a biggie. But I was led to believe that her allergies were much more in control than I think they are. I'm going to give it two weeks to get a better gauge of her paw licking, but I had absolutely told the foster mom that I could NOT deal with two dogs who needed to wear a cone all the time. She assured me the licking was minimal, except it's been constant. I'm assuming Ruby is just nervous/anxious at this point and that hopefully it will die down. But hubby and I had a few tense conversations this weekend about it. He is NOT happy with the licking.
I do NOT want to be one of those people that returns a dog, but I'm feeling VERY misled about the entire thing and a little upset that this woman that I trusted fibbed the truth a little bit.

Good morning! Mine was good for the most part. Friday night we met up with my family for dinner and my brother came back to the house to hang out with us for the night. Woke up Sat morning to the H telling me there was a hole in the bathroom wall. Apparently my brother was a little too drunk and took a tumble in our small guest bathroom and somehow took out part of the wall on his fall.
So I take him home, the H eventually cools down about it, and we go on to our friends house for the pool party/BBQ which was a good time. There were some stuffed jalapenos, pork tenderloin, cheesy potatoes, and frozen snickers bars.
Yesterday the H and his friend got the hardest part done on fixing the wall, today they just have to spackle it and paint. I made some shrimp stuffed egglant for dinner and we watched a little basketball and soccer.

OPS - that's kind of funny about the wall! Did he offer to help fix it? Oh, and I don't eat shrimp but stuffed eggplant sounds awesome! Do you have a recipe?
KNavy--glad you guys worked everything out! Darkling--good luck with the new pup! I hope the licking is just due to enviorment change, and not a permanent problem.
My weekend was a lot of fun. We hung out on Friday night, and made it an early night.
Saturdy we went to the wedding, and had an absolute blast, though my husband got a little hammered... And I realized I dodged a huge bullet when I was talking to an ex of mine at the wedding, who happily has four kids (and they are "working" on number 5.) I feel pretty good about the choices I have made that have brought me to my amazing husband, who is not a good Catholic and does not want a bunch of kids.
Sunday we came back from the hotel, and hung out. I didn't get anything done I needed to, but it was still fun!

Yeah, my brother left $100 in cash to help pay for supplies but I don't even think we needed all that. They only spent $30 at the hardware store yesterday and I think we already have the paint that will match.

The one I used came from a cookbook but it is very similar to this one:
Along with the shrimp I had sauteed some halved grape tomatoes and sliced mushrooms. I am sure you can take out the shrimp and just use more mushrooms or another veggie if you prefer. I also drizzled the tops of them with olive oil before baking, but the recipe above doesn't say to. Usually I pull it out 5 mins before it's done and top with shredded mozzarella instead of parmesan and put it back in until cheese is melted.
We had a really relaxing not particularly eventful weekend! Friday we stayed in because D had to work Saturday. I lost my phone so while he was at work I went everywhere we went Friday trying to find it (all dolled up in a bitchin' 50s style dress). By the time he got off work I was next door (gparents) cutting up a giant watermelon we had bought on Friday. We munched on that the entire weekend - it was ridiculously yummy. We must have done something after that, but all I can remember is we started drinking and were watching..something.. it was funny, though. Beerfest, maybe? No idea. Anyway, Sunday morning he took me out for breakfast because we were both starving and we spent the day lounging, playing video games, reading, and cleaning the house/doing laundry!
The hubs and I both took off work Friday, so we slept in a bit, then went out to breakfast and played tennis for a little over an hour. Then we came home and just chilled the rest of the day.
Saturday I got up and went to bootcamp and then to Kohls. Came home, watched a little tv, napped, got a few groceries, and then the hubs cooked us steaks on the grill for dinner and we sat outside in the beauitful weather. Then we caught up on some DVRd stuff.
Sunday was our anniversary. We got up and went to church, then wen't to a brunch buffet, which was delicious. Came home, took another nap, then went for a short run, did a load or two of laundry, then relaxed the rest of the night.
Knavy - Poo for fights Darkling - Yay for the new puppy! Liz- weddings are designed for getting wasted! you should have been too Orange - sorry about the hole, but it makes me giggle.. D and I have woken up to holes that we didn't remember.. Good times.

True story! And to be fair, I was drunk, I just didn't blackout, as my husband did. (To clarify .)

Good morning all.
Weekend was nice.
Sat. we took the Mustang out and did a dry run to the place I am interviewing at today. We then spent the rest of the day chilling out on the patio with some drinks.
Sun. we went up to Ker's brothers for the day just to hang out.
Friday night we went to BW3's which seems to be our normal Friday night dinner hangout.
Saturday we were busy with landscaping. We planted so many flowers and mulched in our back yard. We also re-did our walking path out our back gate with brick pavers. It turned out really nice. Next year we will add more and dig out the concrete bricks.
Sunday we went to early church service and brunch with my MIL. Afterwords we started mulching the front yard. After the mulching task we then cleaned the house top to bottom and I did the laundry.
Busy busy weekend. I'm so glad we did everything this past weekend so that we can enjoy our upcoming long holiday weekend.
Friday night I got a pedicure, then picked up cheese steaks on the way home. Spent most of the evening making cupcakes and watching basketball.
Saturday I got my hair done, went to my bff's party in the afternoon, then on to my SIL's 50th birthday dinner/party. The day was basically spent eating and drinking lots of wine. I fell asleep on the way home.
Yesterday I went to a book signing with some friends down in Annapolis. Anyone follow The Blogess (Jenny Lawson)? She read one of the chapters in her book, "Let's Pretend This Never Happened", and had a Q&A session. Very cool. Then we went to this awesome organic diner for a late lunch. I didn't get home until 7 or so and was wiped out.
Saturday we took a day trip to Asheville, NC to check out some local breweries and taste what they have. Then we bought some beer at a local store to bring home. They sell stuff in NC that they don't sell in TN (not the nest). My husband has a little stash of beer at home that he restocks from time to time. Why can't all states have the same liquor laws?
And I realized I dodged a huge bullet when I was talking to an ex of mine at the wedding, who happily has four kids (and they are "working" on number 5.)
Wow. Definitely dodged a bullet!
I had a busy weekend!
Friday: H's truck broke (shotty mechanic work), so I got off at 3 and took him to a doctor's appointment. We cooked supper and found out that we might be able to afford to build a house, so I spent the majority of the night putting together some floor plans! (we also loaded up some metal on a trailer to be recycled.)
Saturday: Drove all over this county and the next. Took the metal to the scrap yard, had breakfast in town, dropped the trailer off with BIL, waited for a wrecker to get H's truck. Back home to shower to get ready to go to the funeral home (he was a big donor to the university). Pie! Took my car back to town to get a flat fixed. Grocery shopping. Dinner. Addressed, stuffed, sealed, and stamped wedding announcements. Looked at all my wedding pictures. ...It seems like I did something else...
Friday I taught class and then we ran errands and met some friends for happy hour. It was fun!
Saturday I taught 2 classes and then we went to a graduation party for my friend that got her PhD (twotrues wifey!!). It was really fun and nice to catch up with them. Plus, the food was amazeballs.
Sunday we got up at 5am and drove to my SD's college graduation. It was sunny and 85 degrees. We were stuck in chairs in the middle of a field with no shade or breeze. I am a bit burnt today, but it was lovely. We drove home another 3 hours and chilled out on the patio with some sangria after that. SD was so cute!

Darkling- I'm sorry you're upset with the situation, but it sounds like that pup needs you more than ever!
Saturday I went and got an awesome facial, cleaned, cooked ham and cheese Hawaiian sliders and Nutella croissants. I then took a carb-induced nap before DH got home at 12:30am, we watched a show and then passed out.
Yesterday we slept until noon, ate at Jason's deli, went to see the What to Expect movie (I thought it was funny, but DH thought it was slow). Then we came home and I cooked lasagna, squash casserole, and cheesy green beans for dinner while he cleaned out his truck.

Friday: Did all my laundry, then watched a movie and attempted to sleep. Saturday: Up early, spent forever reading, sipping coffee and getting ready at a snails pace. Went with my sister to get her bellybutton pierced, then had some dinner with the family and went along for a friends dance recital. Home late and fell asleep to another movie. Sunday: Went out to look for workout clothes, but ended up getting more acrylic paints. Finished both my paintings, and hung them on my wall. Excited that they're finally done!

It was pretty good. Friday: We just hung out at home Saturday: Yoga in the morning, ran a bunch of errands, grilled out at night Sunday: Cubs game. They lost, but it was still fun.
Friday night was "eventful", but basically I just watched tv and then went out to Steak N Shake with my hubbs and our friend.
Saturday I got up early and went downtown to deconstruct and then load theater seating that a friend got a really good deal on. Not that we have a theater yet, but whatever. Since I was down there, I walked down the the farmer's market afterwards and loaded up on fresh veggies. Then back home, a little shopping with D, and off to BIL and SIL's housewarming party, which was awesome, had delicious food, and we saw a bunch of our friends.
Sunday, slept in, got up in time to get ready and go to the Royals game for the afternoon. A couple of friends came with us, and I got a little tipsy on ball park beer. Why does cheap beer always taste so good at the ballpark? Anyway, I ate horribly, drank beer, and found out that, even though I dislike baseball, I really like a player that everyone refers to as "Frenchie". Later, D made dinner from the portobella and proscuitto I got at the market, and then we snuggled the whole night watching Sherlock and NBC Thursday night comedies on our DVR.
Friday I went from work straight to a beach bar and put my toes in the sand and many margaritas in my belly. My friend from work met me there shortly after and it was great to catch up. Throughout the night people kept calling to see what I was up to and so I'd invite them and eventually I had a group of 10! At around 11pm it started to get cool and windy so we walked a few blocks and got some amazing Greek food, then went home.
Saturday we did some yard work and washed our cars, then headed downtown for a pub crawl. There ended up being almost 30 of us! We hit up 10 bars before midnight. It was ridiculous and fun (and I'm sure I will be untagging myself in a lot of FB photos here in a bit!) On our way home, a group of friends called to say they were going to a bar near our house, so we met them there for more drinks, then back to our friends' house after that. I fell asleep on the couch and Greg woke me up at 5am to drive us home.
Sunday we both slept in till around 1pm, then did some more yard work and started up the grill. We had 4 friends over for the afternoon on the patio and yummy food. The weather was absolutely perfect which I appreciate even more now that today and the rest of the week is cool and rainy.
Friday I went to a bar down near school and invited people for celebratory drinks. I got to see people I hadn't seen in forever! H left to watch the Celtic's game at a different bar and my friends and I went to dinner at a Venezuelan restaurant (so good!). After that I met back up with H, his friend & gf and we went to this hot dog place where I was peer pressured into a bacon wrapped hot dog & a PBR.
Saturday H did laundry and grocery shopping in the morning and we lounged around recovering. We had free tickets to this food festival thing, but ending getting wicked lost (and walking waaaay more than my ankle could handle) in the park looking for it. But then I started seeing comments on FB that the festival was a giant shitshow - running out of beer, long lines for everything, vendors running out of food - so we skipped it. We went to a fish & chips place that is famous for deep frying whatever you want. We ate fried mac & cheese, fish & chips, and then had a deep fried Snickers, Twix and Reese's pb cup for dessert. The waiter was impressed. lol
Sunday we didn't do much. Hung out in the backyard since it was gorgeous, and I made stuffed pork chops for dinner.

MN, that really sucks about the food festival turning into a debacle but it sounds like you still had a nice turn of events in it's place! I would love some fried mac n cheese right about now.
Friday, we landed in Vegas at one, got our rental car, which was a Camero..H wanted an upgrade. We ended up having to return it because it was dirty and the brakes were spongy. He was pissed because the total upgrade was $450, which is ridiculous. In Orlando, we upgraded to a Seabring, same category as the Camero, and it was only $30 a day extra..not $65 a day (so essentially, the Camero rents for $95 a day which is ridiculous). We then went to In-N-Out and H was very disappointed about the quality of the food...it was gross. So we decided to go back and return the Camero and we ended up in a Focus, which was not a bad car at all. It was sporty and fun. Then we parked and went to Hard Rock Cafe. We got an awesome picture and had AMAZING food there. I also had a drink. On the way back to the car, I tried to take my finger off with a fence lol. Then we met up with otter and Mr. otter and hit up Freemont street which was hella fun. I needed to drink more water because my side was KILLING me. Then H and I went back to our hotel, gambled and drank a little and went to bed (Mind you it was 2am our time lol)
Saturday, we went to Palace Station with the otters for buffet breakfast and gambled. Then H and I cruised down to New York New York and bought tickets to Zumanity (which was SO FUCKING AWESOME! I loved it so much. It was done so well and was so beautiful). Then we met up with the otters, H and otter rode the roller coaster, then we wandered around and went back to our hotel to rest and get ready for dinner. We ate at a bomb-ass Italian place at New York New York and saw Zumanity. H and I caught a cab back to the hotel and passed out.
Sunday, we had breakfast at the Venetian and then went to the Hoover Dam, which was neat but it was 103 fucking degrees outside. I was dying. We then went back to Vegas to get lunch and decided on Planet Hollywood in Caesars..never again. They didn't put H's order in when we ordered, we waited over 40 minutes for food and when it came out we left without paying since my food was cold, she spilled my soda on the table and got my phone wet (thank god she didn't ruin it). Then we got fucking confused leaving Caesars lol. We ended up BACK at Hard Rock, wolfed down our food, ran back to the car, sped to the air port and BARELY Made it to our gate (they were off-boarding passengers from the flight before ours).
All in all, it was an eh weekend for us. We're too old for Vegas since we don't party and like to sleep early.

skipping, I am disappointed that your In-n-Out experience was so terrible. Maybe only the California employees know how to do it right?
I saw your FB update about seeing the Pawn Stars dude, I totally would have gone into their shop if I had time while there. We watch that show all the time.
Yeah. H pointed out "Oh look, another Rolls (Royce)" and I went TOTAL fan girl like OH MY GOD ITS RICK FROM PAWN STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.
Friday morning we hopped in the car and drove to Vegas. OMG. The kittens had to come with us and one of them had an accident...DH has a super sensitive stomach, and he immediately starts gagging. Well, I had no way to wash them or the cage...so I had to buy baby wipes and make due.
We get to Vegas and get all checked in...after 9 hours in a car, I'm ready to be out of the car. Foxxy has made great strides with her anxiety, and I didn't think she'd be upset being left in the room...haha, yeah. We met up with the Skippings for a minute on Friday, but we were super tired and mostly just lounged around and slept.
Saturday we went to the buffet at Palace Station...mmmm! I love the food there. Afterwards, Jay decided he needed shorts, so we had to find a place that had clothes his size...found a great XL store and got him shorts and a new shirt We also saw the shark reef at Mandalay Bay, but I thought it was a bit disappointing.
Went to New York New York where Mr. Skipping and I rode the roller coaster...totally awesome! Did a little wandering, and then back to the hotel for a nap... I had such a bad headache. Had a crazy good supper at Il Fornaio in New York New York and then Jay and I wandered around the strip, seeing the shows at Treasure Island and the Mirage. I then went to Harrah's and got a yard long drink. Jay was worried that I would waste most of it, since he had to drive and couldn't indulge. So I made sure to really drink it down...yeah, I got crazy drunk. We ended up at the hotel, where the drinking continue.
I was so excited about having food from Flavor Flav's restaurant, but since we were drunk, I decided to have it delivered. They told me it'd be 45 minutes...it took almost 2 hours By then I was exhausted and couldn't even eat it.
Then on Sunday, Jay and I tried to do breakfast...yeah, we were gone 15 minutes and the hotel called us back because Foxxy was being incredibly loud, howling and stuff. Came back and there was a nasty note under the door about how rude we are to let my dog yap all morning when people are trying to sleep. Um, she wasn't yapping all morning. I get that people were frustrated, but come on. Now we are afraid to leave her alone again, so we don't even get breakfast.
We grab fast food on the road...Foxxy was still nervous and Jay was all over seeing this eclipse...I just wanted to lay back, read my book, and get the hell home...ugh. The trip home sucked.
Overall, the weekend was pretty good, but the driving sucked and Foxxy was so stressed.
