I can understand how someone could disapprove of gays and lesbians due to their religious beliefs. However, acting on these beliefs is another story. I honestly plead with these people to seriously consider whether their personal beliefs should negatively affect someone's civil liberties. As someone who would identify as an atheist (or possible agnostic) I would never try to impose my beliefs on you and limit your religious freedoms. Or in other words, “Your right to swing your arms ends just where the other man’s nose begins.”

This is exactly what I don't understand. I will never get why people care about things that do not affect them, especially when these actions can negatively affect others.
