I've actually heard Anna a fair amount on younger girls and babies. It feels like there's a resurgence, even on this side of the Atlantic. There has been at least one Anna, if not 2 or 3, in each of DD's classes every year in the US and now in France.
Even though it's my name, I personally prefer other -anna/ana versions, like Joanna, Marianna/Mariana, Adriana, etc.
I like Anna, but I feel like it is everywhere! Each of my kids has an Anna in their class at school, my SIL had an Anna last year, and one of my BFFs had an Anna last month. It seems to be rapidly replacing Emma/Ella/Stella in the "old fashioned name that ends in -a" category.
These were my great grandmothers' names. - Vivian/Vivi - Emma - Anita/Annie (we are leaning strongly toward this for a girl)
Other names. - Genevieve/Evy - Elisabeth/Betty (my grandmother's name and DD's MN) - Lillian (my grandmother's name - we used Liliana instead) - Lucy - Robert/Robbie (we are leaning strongly toward this for a boy) - Kent (my grandfather's name) - Charles/Charlie - Margot - Eloise
