Yesterday I needed a nap but dd had wasted hers in the car (30 minutes all day!) so I stuck her in her crib with a basket of toys for an hour. Glorious.
My husband is afraid of color in or house. Our walls, ceiling, and half of our furniture/ decor is bland white/ cream/ tan. One of the walls in the nursery is a chocolate milkshake brown. I decided last night, after our cream glider arrived, that the room is too white, and I'm spending the afternoon painting the rest of the room brown. H can deal with it.
Because painting at 38 weeks pregnant seems like a brilliant plan, right?

My nephew looks a lot like my dad, yet I can't see any resemblance in my sister. Apparently, I'm the only one, though.
DD turned 3 yesterday. The only thing she really wanted was a "Chipmunks or Kiki guitar." We got her a pink acoustic guitar because my musician H wanted her to have a real one, not a toy. Her DCP got her a toy electric one, which not surprisingly, she loves best.

We also have a small kid - 19lbs 6oz at his 1 year check up that was 10 days late. But!! He jumped from 3rd to 8th percentile. LOL
My kid is becoming Mr Social and I love it. He still has a very serious streak to him, but he waved at everyone at the grocery store yesterday and the lady that runs the childcare at the gym reported that he waved at everyone that checked in there as well. He also just started clapping, which he does on the regular - either with to music or to congratulate himself. It's really cute.

DH comes in at midnight and wakes me and goes - Starry, you know you aren't supposed to be doing this but man you two are cute together!
So by the smiley face, I presume you were able to go right back to sleep? Because I might have left the smiley face out if DH had done something similar to me when DD was a newborn.
But to the co-sleeping, I totally miss snuggly naps with DD when she was younger. Okay, I miss naps generally (she stopped entirely at 2), but the snuggling was awesome.
I am glad to hear a lot of people here having thriving mini babies! I feel bad when I get the SHE'S SO SMALL comments.
I love my squishy fatso, but she is heavy. And I get "wow, she's so big" all the time. You cant wim.
DS is in the 50th percentile for height, 65% for weight and people comment all the time that he's "huge". They don't believe me when I say he's just average.

I believe it! I've been recently told how long J is. Um, 25% percentile folks, not really long at all. I'm just convinced that the vast majority of people have no reference for what is "normal" for babies.
