Although for the record, we do have power, a guest room, a giant pot of beef stew, and so much wine.
This might change my answer, depending on how long it would take you to drive there.
sorry, no. You don't move in a hurricane. That's why you get tired of hearing shelter in place and hunker down on tv. Roads should be left to people who have to be on them.

True.
Ignore my previous post. Hunker down and bring on the wine.
I want take-out. But I feel guilty calling for it and not sure its safe to drive.
It will NEVER arrive. We (surprisingly) still have 46 options on Seamless, but a lot of the places that usually estimate 15-30 minutes for delivery are estimating 90 minutes + (which probably means 3 hours).

Yeah...that is what I am worried about. Plus a lot of the companies up here have been getting flack for staying open. Like a burrito company that I get emails from sent out an email at like 3 pm saying they were open, then at 4 pm had to send an apology email because they were reamed out by people for making their employees stay at work.
What's the rule for toilet use during a power outage? We're on city water, if it matters. I've never been without power for more than about an hour. I'm completely clueless!

I think with city water you should be fine, unless you're in a high-rise in which case water may not be pumped up to your floor. We'll lose water if we lose power, but we're about 14 stories up...

Ours went off and we were like, "Here we go!" and then it was back on in 30 seconds. I'm sure there is more to come, but there was nothing like those 30 seconds to realize all the things I had forgotten to do (where the hell are the matches anyway?). We've both had wind-up flashlights clipped to our clothing all day today just in case, lol.

Harpy, you're not in Huntington, are you? I heard they were shutting off power to a particular neighborhood there because they're doing mandatory evacuations.
