My confession--I don't know that we are actually going to be able to pull this show off. No one knew their lines last night. No one was focussed. And it doesn't seem like anyone cares. We go into tech on Sunday and it is going to be miserable. Theatre is supposed to be my fun, escape from life. Not full of drama.
Liz, it's time to kick some ass. If they don't have time to memorize lines or focus on the production, they should have thought of that before they took the role. GL!!!
GLW--What's funny is I have the utmost respect for actors. I know I could never memorize lines, and blocking, and everything. So props to you! And that is my hope on the sucky rehearsal.
Louie-- I completely agree, and it is so frustrating. Why take it, if you don't want to commit? It's community theatre, if their stuff really didn't stink, then they would be professionals, and getting paid for it.
Random: I'm wearing this really cute, thick leather belt (with a big jeweled buckle) cinched high. I just ate lunch and feel like I'm going to explode, but I refuse to take it off because it makes my outfit so cute. FWP: That is all.
Yesterday a co-worker of mine dressed up like the Thing from Fantastic Four.
She had the ugly face mask on and these ^^^ feet. So EVERY.SINGLE.TIME she got up from her desk (she sits in the cube in front of me) you heard this God-AWFUL SMASH!CRASH!CRUNCH! noise.
I honestly think she kept getting up EVERY.TEN.MINTUES just for the attention. Finally around 11am I could not take it anymore. I told her she was "annoying as hell" and asked her to turn her "damn feet" off. She told me she couldn't do it until AFTER the costume contest was over. GRRRRR!!!!
I think costumes are fine at work as long as they do not disturb the people around you. This was not appropriate for work IMO.
