Using Checks with maiden name

I got married 2.5 years ago and ordered new checks. I just found a box wi my maiden name on them. Can I use them? Do I sign my old name or cross out my maiden name and write in my maiden name?

I write like 2 checks a month. Mostly to my housekeeper.

We just used a check with my maiden name on it to pay the $3.22 of closing costs at our refi last week. We rarely write checks, so it hasn't been worth it to re-order at any point in the last 5 years.

We pointed it out to make sure it wasn't an issue, and they didn't bat an eye at it.

I sign my maiden name since that is what is at the top of the check. DH's name isn't even on the check, but he has since been added to the account, and he writes the checks with his signature on occasion, and we have never had a problem. (even when he wrote a $5,000+ check to our contractor)

I still use checks with my maiden name and 4 addresses ago. As long as the person taking it doesn't want the correct info preprinted, you are fine.

I also sign checks where I'm on the account, but we never got checks with my name on them, just H's. Never an issue.

We have a bazillion checks with the wrong info and write about a dozen checks a year.

I've used checks with my maiden name and sing my married name. I don't usually point it out or make an issue of it and I never had a problem.

I used checks with my maiden name for 4 years. I just signed both last names. Glad I didn't order more since I changed my last name back.
