I am going to get Harmony paint for our nursery. Is it good? Do I need primer? Would you do egg shell or semi Gloss for a nursery? Any light blue color recs? Thanks!
not that you need to pick a color first though - you can just go buy the paint and then go back later and get it tinted. (seriously you guys...life saver there. I love you all so much for telling me that)
I'm using Harmony in my house right now. We're starting from a hodge podge of patched walls and new drywall, so obviously we primed. If you're painting over just a different paint color I'd feel comfortable skipping primer as long as the existing paint isn't bright, dark or glossy.
And I'd do egshell. I hate shiny walls. I don't think semi-gloss on the walls is ever necessary. A good quality paint should be plenty wipeable in eggshell/satin.
I would do eggshell or satin also because I don't really like shiny walls, however, I have heard it's easier to wipe down the walls due to crayon, grime, etc in a kid's room with semi gloss (from unsolicited advice of coworkers of course). I have had no issues wiping my SW satin walls though.
Do you have the bedding that you will be using in the room already? Some blues may have undertones that don't work with everything, while others seem to work like the blue of the sky and go with everything.
Thanks everyone. I do have some bedding in mind so I may try to get it TJs weekend before going to SW for the sale. If not, I will use the great tip to buy now and tint later!
