We did at 6 months but not regularly. I preferred the fruits/veggies.
But then at his 9 month appt, his iron was low so we are having to give an iron supplement. Since the cereals are iron fortified, I'm kicking myself for not being more diligent. Now he gets either oatmeal or brown rice cereal every day. (Not an issue for formula fed babies I'm sure.)

DS just got his yr check up and also had low iron. The pedi said he sees it is the majority of one year olds. Those on formula and those on rice cereal. Don't feel bad!
I bought a box of each baby cereal - rice, wheat and barley. I thought we'd use it for weeks. We got thru one box by the time she was off cereal and onto regular purees. I returned the others.
Just do what you want and buy as you go along. I didn't do BLW but was amazed at how fast she moved out of the cereal phase.

I gave her oatmeal cereal at 6mo to appease the nurse practitioner who looked at me like a loon when I mentioned BLW. Then I gave her banana and that was the end of cereal at home. But, heck if I was going to waste the cereal, so I sent it to daycare and had them feed it to her. Then I started reading on here about low iron in BF babies, so I've bought it a few more times and keep sending it.
