It's really simple. You post (tweet) using 140 characters or less. Your username begins with the @ sign, which you use when you want to mention another user. Hashtags are used to group together tweets about the same subject. That's it.

So when you're using Twitter, do you search by hash tags? Or is anyone actually searching for things? Do you just follow people and their stories end up on your screen?
You can search by keyword or hashtag. And you set your feed to be private, where you approve people who request to follow you, or public where anyone can see your tweets. If you're trying to tweet celebs and such, you have to be public so they can see your posts.
Every time I tweet, I feel like I'm talking to myself. I have like 2 followers. Ok, a few more. But nobody ever retweets me or replies to me. I'M A TWITTER LOSER.

I really only follow news outlets on Twitter. I love being able to see what everyone is saying in one place instead of visiting each of their websites individually. And, I can see who breaks what news, which is cool if you're a news nerd like me.
Yes! I almost always get the latest news via twitter.
Papie, follow all of your favorite stores and companies. They use twitter a lot to get the word out about great deals and coupons and contests and stuff!
This will also make me look dumb, but what is Instagram? Is it like twitter? Is it pictures? Talking pictures?
It's like the Twitter of pictures. You can have public or private profile, you can still use hashtags to make posts searchable, you can still use @ and someone's screen name to tag them in your posts.
