I miss breastfeeding I mean it sucked most of the time, but I am still missing it. I hope I actually make milk for my next baby.
Squirms is doing this weird grunting thing now. I don't know if she's just learning to make new sounds or what. But she will lift her legs up in the air and grunt angrily over and over again.
she ate two 6 oz bottles today at different points, wheras a week ago we were still fighting to get her to finish a 4 oz bottle. Must be a growth spurt.
I am pretty sure my thumb is broken but don't want to fart around with having it x-rayed and potentially casted.
C finally pooped after 9 days. It was epic, but fully contained in the CD!
I forgot how much I loved working out. Plus, getting out of the house without the baby and having adult interaction is seriously amazing.
My life has also gotten much better once I realized that it won't kill C to fuss/cry in the PNP for a minute or two while I make a quick sandwich/poop/switch a load of laundry.
DS must be cutting a molar or something b/c these teething crying jags are EPIC. I'm up 2-3 times a night with him, even WITH giving him Tylenol. I just looked at the bottle and was like "Are you expired or something? WTF is going on? You used to help DAMMIT." And then I realized I was talking to a Tylenol bottle at 1am
I've learned my kid is the exception to all sleep rules.
He didn't used to nap during the day more than 20 mins at a time (and i'd spend 1.5hrs on the task). then I started letting him get overtired to the point of fussing, and he nurses to sleep in 5mins and stays there for 45mins to 2hrs.
He also started sleeping tons better at night when we started food.
Next time I have an issue I'm going to follow the opposite path from conventional wisdom
My mother is coming tomorrow and staying until Sunday. My MIL is coming Monday and staying with us until Wednesday, when my FIL comes and then they are both going to a hotel. On Friday my MIL's sister and her wife are coming to spend the day with us and my in-laws. It is going to be a long week. Hooray though for people who love my children.
I keep forgetting Thanksgiving is next week. We're not celebrating until the following Sunday and are not leaving town for it. It's weird to not be in pre-travel mode this close to Thanksgiving for once.
DD slept for 12 hours last night and I feel great! It's truly amazing what a little sleep can do for a person's energy level and mood. You don't realize it's power until you have to start going without it.
I'm at the point with my job where I'm ok if they let me go.
I was back from maternity leave for 3 days, then Sandy hit and we were closed for a week. They just announced that we are all expected to make up those 40 hours between now and the end of the year. We're also being "asked" not to take any PTO time until January.
My commute is around 3.5 hours round trip since the storm. So as it is, right now I'm out of my house from 7:30 to about 6:45 each day, and that's with leaving right at 5 every night. I only see the kid for 2-2.5 hours.
Anyway, I told my boss I'm not making up the 40 hours. I'm just not. We'll see what happens.
that seems crazy jen. It's not like you guys were on some holiday and refusing to work, it was a natural disaster! And saying as a result of the disaster you can't take time off around the holidays is nuts to me. I'm sure morale is just awesome right now What kind of work is it?
supergreen: switch to Advil. We only use Tylenol when he needs something between Advil doses.
DS is still waking at night, but I decided not to get up last night because he usually goes back to sleep within 5 minutes. It's just so LOUD - and I don't use a monitor, so I can't turn him off. I did successfully not feed him from 7:30 - 6 last night.
My work trip is on. I booked my flight. I'm feeling better about it than I was (because of the night weaning), but I'll miss my crazy little boy a lot. And the DH work situation (it's musical season, so he has to be at a performance 1 of the 2 nights I'm gone) sucks. Hopefully MIL can cover us.

Try Motrin (after talking to your pedi). Our pedi said we could start at 6 mos, and it worked so much better for teething pain.
Hope you enjoy your trip token I wish you lots of sleep
The sleep should be good.
The rest... well, the nicest place to stay in town is a Super 8. The local cuisine is "Mennonite". I wish I was at least going someplace cool. On the upside, while my coworkers are jealous I got permission to leave my cube, they are not jealous that I'm going to rural Manitoba.
It's not even easy to get a drink (see "the local cuisine is Mennonite").
DS had a fever from Sunday to Wednesday. Now he's teething. He was up like 4 times last night between midnight and 7am. DH and I haven't had a decent night's sleep in a week! Plus work's been insane so I can't even take it easy here. Thank god for a 2.5 day week next week!!!
My IL's are taking him Saturday night so we can actually get one night of rest. Where I lack in the parental department (my parents, not me) I have made up for with amazing in-laws!

I work in advertising. This was after we had a post-Sandy meeting last week where this was never mentioned. I know it comes from the parent company, not the president/CEO here. But still.
My direct boss was totally sympathetic and on my side. But he doesn't make the rules.

I am hoping the doctor can help me out today. What I thought was just a cold is getting worse every day. I think I have bronchitis. It doesn't help that my daughter has had hives all week from her allergic reaction to antibiotics and is up constantly throughout the night. I need sleep!

Mmm, yeah, rural Manitoba probably won't be too hoppin'. I've got a friend who works near Dauphin who said that he feels like a misfit city boy even though he moved there from rural Cape Breton.
You'll just have to stock up at the airport and go wild in your hotel room all George Thorogood "I drink alone" style

We're all sick, but DS is sort of on the mend. I feel bad that I'm letting him watch so much TV. I'm so tired, though. I just cannot be engaged right now.
Zzzzzzzzz.
Also, I feel really bad for Kevin Clash (Elmo). How embarrassing.
I dance Amira around to Gangnam Style singing "Hey sexy baby...AJ style!". I will have to stop this when she's old enough to talk. I can imagine her toddling around daycare saying "sexy baby," haha.
We fly him around and do "heeeeey super baby!...fly in style"
