We have, like, a half an inch of snow on the ground and that means that I can go into work two hours late tomorrow! 2 hour delay for the university!
This is amazing.
Awesome!
I had the same experience when I went to college. Where I grew up, you were lucky to get a snow day after 12" fell. In college, they would shut things down ater 2" or so.
Dude, so you know where I went for grad school. I can remember walking around campus in snow so deep that it was coming in the tops of my boots and stuff wasn't canceled.

It's a different activity and a different experience, but I don't necessarily think one has more value than the other. Listening is less of a dedicated activity because I can listen while I walk to work or drive, so i guess in that way it takes less commitment than sitting down to read a book, but I am still involved in the story and feel the same way about the characters as I would if I had read it.

I listen to audiobooks all the time. I do not think of it as reading, but if I talk about a book that I listened to I usually just say that I read it because it's simpler.

Getting to pick where we went to eat for my birthday was a BIG DEAL to me when I was that age. It's too bad that you guys can't go, but it's his birthday and he's 9.

Don't bother with the rice pasta at the health food store. I only get that if I am making something for company and really need the specific shape. I get cheap stuff from the Asian market or aisle (depending on what you have). The kind I get is like $1.50 a pack.

The only gf specialty items I buy (aside from the occasional treat) are Udi's bread, cheapo rice pasta from the Asian foods aisle, and Blue Diamond nut thins.
