Just an FYI I made a new SN. I've been wanting to make the switch for a while because this SN was my AIM SN for years and nickname in HS, which makes it very searchable. Not the end of the world, but I'd rather stay a little more private. The new SN is cheese...in french. Anyone who searches that will get images of brie and camembert.
(There's only one picture of it in the ravelery pattern and it doesn't show much...I tried to find the picture from the phildar catalog, but I'm not finding it for some reason).
Right now I'm in a post-Christmas crafting fast. Haha...I knitted hats like crazy, sewed felt animals for DS, sewed him some clothes, a puppet...I needed a few days of a break.
Big things I want to get done this year- 1- His play kitchen. I'm hoping that will be his 2nd birthday gift in June. 2- I want to finish making his blocks that I started in November. Sanding is proving to take much longer than I anticipated. 3- A picnic table for DS 4- Not really crafty, but we're going to be building a bunch of raised beds soon. 5- Plenty of random sewing projects that are either in the works, or in my head. Some I need to finish soon or else they wont fit DS before he grows out of them.
You've gotten a lot of good advice but I wanted to add a few suggestions. Go check out Healdsburg. It's super cute, the drive is beautiful and there are wineries you can stop at on your way. The Gallo tasting room in Healdsburg is nice (and bonus, the guy pouring wine there also worked for Louis Martini and gave us tasting vouchers! Louis Martini was very good. We really enjoyed the wine there).
Also, for an amazing cave tour and excellent wine, you should go to Jarvis winery. It's not MM (I think $30 per person for a tour and tasting), but it's really a wonderful place.
Just confirmed with my husband who works in FSA/HSA- YH is the only one who can fund the HSA since he has the HDHP, but you can use it. We have one through my husband's company and it paid for my (very expensive) labor and delivery.
My daughter has been playing with my old barn!! My mom has most of the original animals and people for the farm and house, but I love those softies! I hope he loves it!!
That is also really cool! My mom saved a bunch of my toys too, but she's keeping them at her house. I want those lincoln logs, though! I've been waiting for years for it to be socially appropriate to play with those again :-P
They're adorable! I think I'm almost as excited about Christmas this year as my 5yo- OMG, he is SO into it, it's the cutest thing ever. We caught him whispering in the hall to his little sister that she HAS to go to sleep early tonight so that Santa can come in- practically begging her. LOL
That's so cute! I can't wait for my LO to "get it." My friend posted her 7 year old and her 5 year old's letters to Santa on her blog the other day. They were adorable. The 5 year old asked for "baby toys" because his little 18 month old brother couldn't write a letter to Santa yet and he wanted to make sure he didn't get left out. Kids are so sweet and funny.

I decided to make DS one last gift yesterday. His barn really needed some farm animals. I'm so excited to have him find his barn with farm animals inside on Christmas morning!

Yea, I've got one more hat I'd like to knit for my dad. I'm almost done with a pair of slippers for my friend's DD, and almost done with 5 little monkey finger puppets for DS. It's doable, but I need to buckle down and finish them. Christmas is soon!
Your list sounds like it might give you a nervous breakdown. Go easy on yourself.

Okay thanks ladies...I think it will be okay. My mom's head is a little smaller than mine. I was going for something without any extra bagginess, but then got nervous I went too far. If it doesn't look good on her, I can always make her another one. :-)

I finished another hat last night. This one is for my mom, but I'm afraid it's too short. It looks pretty short when it's not being worn, but seems "ok" on me. IDK...I could always pick up stitches at the bottom and do more ribbing. What say you crafty ladies? (Please excuse the PJs in the picture)

I'm just going to go ahead and post the picture I took before mailing mine so that glitterfart doesn't have to worry about finding her camera. I hope that's okay, glitterfart! Since we're starting to wrap up and are using existing pictures to make sure everyone got their ornament, I want to make sure you're counted (or rather, I am counted...and not hunted down by the craft police! )

Thanks ladies! I think the color will look really nice on him. I debated on it for a loong time before finally choosing this. Can't wait to have him try it on next week!

Thanks for the blocking advice ladies. I think I'll wait and see how it looks on him. Right now I think it looks good without blocking it but I guess it's possible I'll change my mind.
Good advice on blocking it dry and spraying it. I wouldn't have thought to do it that way. Thanks!

I had a chance to finish DH's Christmas hat last night when he was out for his company holiday party (and with DS and I just recovered from the stomach flu, we opted to sit this year out).
I love the color although it's not showing up quite right in the pictures. I used the "regular guy beanie" pattern on Ravelry.
Question for you knitters, the yarn is a cotton, silk, alpaca blend. Should I block it?
Sorry for the sideways pictures again. I don't know why tinypic insists on rotating my pictures, and photobucket doesn't work for me right now either. What are people using to PIP these days? I'm getting fed up with tinypic and photobucket!
I finally bought the latest pattern magazine and I'm in love. Must make all the things!
Also, slightly related, I was playing with a double needle in my machine. Word to the wise, make sure you take your machine off the zig-zag stitch before attempting to use the double needle. Also, also, I'm thinking I should probably wear some sort of protective lenses while sewing.
I have thought about wearing protective lenses while sewing too. Every time a needle breaks I think, hmm...I should have been wearing our woodworking glasses.
Haha, no mouse phobia here! I've actually knit a couple mice to give as baby gifts recently...I hadn't considered potential mouse phobia on the parents' part. Hmm...
