I hate to admit this, despite living in Wisconsin, I’ve only ever been to Chicago as an adult for work.
My spouse and I are doing a weekend in September, tentatively planning on staying at the Virgin Hotel on Wabash and taking the L to Logan Square for a Star Wars burlesque show. 😂
Any suggestions for daytime activities? Are all the museums kid-focused?

Where I am in Wisconsin we have a high population of Hmong immigrants. One of the salon owners told me that there’s a program in Laos that helps them build nail salons in the US so they can send money back to their families.
My pedicure this past week was $45 and was just $5 more than the basic they offer. From what I can tell, they all keep their own tips.

My office did a return to work 2 days a week starting last June. Our team generally came in on Tuesday and one other day of the week.
After 7 months of this, and seeing how there was no value-add to staff—we suddenly didn’t have more ✨collaboration ✨and the office was still quiet, they’ve cancelled the requirement. It helped as more teams were hiring full-remote employees and it didn’t make sense to require time in the office strictly based on mileage away.
It did take a little bit of gentle prodding, but I’m glad leadership changed course and I think it will result in happier and healthier employees as well as better retention.

I believe the key is on your W-4 in addition to checking the married filing jointly box, also make sure the box in step 2 is checked for both spouses. This will withhold more and be more accurate.

I’ve ordered several times for myself and others last year and only once were they bad. And if I recall correctly, those were delivered during an artic freeze.
I got ones delivered on Thursday. The red are opening this morning and are perfect. The pink are still closed.
Board games and card games! We’ve been having a lot of game nights and they are so expensive. When I look up reviews from 2-3 years ago they always list the price and some games are $20+ more now.
Check out boardgameoracle.com and you can track board game prices. A lot of websites do daily deals. Also there’s a subreddit for alerts on good deals!

I went with the Highwood brand as they offer a “king size” wider chair. The white chairs stay out year round in a Wisconsin winter and have held up great. I use Dawn Powerwash and that cleans it up well.
Just started Mounjaro yesterday and feeling pretty nauseous. Does that get better as the week goes on? I can barely eat or even drink water without feeling like I’m going to throw up. I was on Saxenda for years but the high dose was just becoming a major GI problem so now I’m trying this. I’m a little concerned that maybe I can’t handle meds like this anymore or that I won’t be able to go beyond the 2.5 dose. Any advice?
It’s weird, but look it up. Sniff rubbing alcohol pads.
Bad Dingo, I started one week ago. I notice a HUGE difference in my appetite and I am down about 6lbs. I love feeling like I know how to stop eating because I am full rather than feeling like "I cannot waste that delicious food!" I have NEVER felt this way before; I just ate and ate until I felt sick because it tasted so good. Now I have none of that.
No side effects and truly just so happy.
I’m one week on Monday and this above is SO accurate.
I work from home most days, when I don’t have a lot of meetings, I get bored with my work. Every time I let my beagle in/out of the house, I would grab a “snack”. That could be like 4 times an hour. I was doing a LOT of mindless eating.
Last week, I actually ✨forgot✨ about eating. That has NEVER been me. So I didn’t make the best food choices when I actually did go to eat. That’s my goal for this week is planned meals.
I’m down about 3 lbs with my official weigh in on Tuesday.

Seems like the only way to add a new bank account is to submit via paper. And you have to have the bank notarize it. This millennial doesn’t have a printer.

As many have with COVID, I've spent more time in the kitchen than ever before. I have also spent all of my "going out" money on decorating parts of my home that I've ignored for a long time. I am become slightly obsessed with the Hearth & Hand line from Target.
So much so, I can't even tell if I want this KitchenAid only because of the name. I can't tell if I love this color or secretly hate it.
Thoughts on the color? Thoughts on this type of KitchenAid? I only own a $20 handmixer from Walgreens that I got as a gift when graduating from college.

I’m late to the game. But get Vets Best. We had a yard that rabbits constantly left fleas in. The dogs would pick them up. This spray kills on impact and can be used on the animals, on carpet and even on humans. It’s made of peppermint and cloves. Works so well!

I’ve learned to change my shipping to the latest option to get the $1 media credit. I use this to buy tax software, music, rent a movie, etc. I probably rack up $50-75 worth in a year to get freebies, which makes the $119 easier to chew.

I'm looking for a propane fire table for my patio. We have a pit, which I love when we build real fires, but the truth is that my husband isn't much of an outdoors guy and I'd like to be able to have something that I can easily turn on/off and have a glass of wine by.
Also, being in Wisconsin, having it be able to put out a fair amount of heat is a bonus.
Review vary as far as ones that hold up well in weather.
I've only read the recap, but I don't get the portrait.
Here is what I think and I would be curious to hear what you think when you watch. I don't think that it means that she becomes President or anything like that.
Rowan has this moment when Jake comes to him about Olivia being collateral damage to the Republic where Rowan basically shames him and says he has no power, that when you have to tell people you are the power that it is clear you (Jake) don't have it. Of course Rowan believes he personally has it, that he IS the power. He tells Jake that both he and Olivia as his "kids" have disappointed him and he was waiting for just one of them to get it right.
Fast forward to the end where Rowan goes on to "save" Olivia by testifying. I was checking on my kid at this part, but the basic gist was how ironic it was that these ridiculous white men (presidents) walk around all puffed up like they have the power when, all this time, it has been Rowan, a black man, who has the ultimate power in the republic.
I think the portrait signifies that Olivia has been recognized as "the power" behind two US presidents and countless of other Washington DC types, that she "fulfilled" what Rowan says in the first part with Jake.
Could mean this. Or it could mean that Olivia became president.
It could mean that Olivia was first lady to Mellie.
Could mean that Olivia married Fitz.
Could mean a lot of things and I think they did that to be very Sopranos -- make your own ending.

Ask friends and co-workers. I have two young women who are just out of college who I call on for dog-sitting. I pay them about $30/night (I have 3 dogs) plus food and wine. We have a nice house with Netflix & Hulu. They like to get out of their apartments (roommates) and spend some time alone with the dogs.
