I mean, if gloating is more fun than actually attracting Bernie voters and having some chance at beating Trump, by all means, carry on.
If you want to vote against your best interest, rock on. Voting for Trump isn't going to piss Clinton off. If you want President Trump you should vote for him
I'm not even a Clinton fan girl, but the idea that people on the internet need to be nice or you won't vote for their candidate is so fucking stupid.
I have never been Bernie or Bust, just like plenty of Bernie supporters. I can still be extremely disgusted by this post.
I have been on a shitload of Bernie discussion groups and seen some dramatics and ugliness. But nothing that compares to the unhinged cuntbaggery in this post. Apparently Bernie's public service can't compare to your unparalleled contribution to society of writing shit on the internet. Do us all a favor, and keep your rabid smugness here instead of Facebook in support of Hillary against Trump. Because if the average person sees this shit, they'll vote against you out of spite.
Man, some of you need Jesus or a deep dicking or both.
(omg, fuck this quote function) "Are there really people, outside of maybe genuine bootstrap conservatives, who don't understand his underlying appeal?"
Apparently, OP, who invited everyone on the board to "unload on Bernie Bros." Which I guess means if you support him, you're a sexist bro, which I don't even understand. Is this more Madeline Albright BS about going to hell if I don't vote for the lady?
I am a diehard Hillary fan (and was in 2008, too), but it's not hard for me to see Bernie's appeal. There are plenty of intelligent, well-informed voters who support him.
This was my main point to OP. We can argue about the rest all day, but the idea that if you're informed, you will support Hillary is uninformed itself, smug af, and peak assholery.
I've followed him since long before Sanders was running, and agreed with his assessment of the 2008 crisis completely (and the state of our economy/union in general).
Aside from the hyperbole of "bringing down," yes. Absolutely, 100%. We are at risk of the world grinding to a complete halt, which almost happened in 2008. We can come back from oppressive reproductive legislation in a short time...you can't just get SCOTUS to strike down another Great Depression.
I have no doubt that has something to do with it. The only problem is that we've heard a lot of "socialist!" stuff thrown Obama's way too, so the idea of them working with an actual socialist seems a bit far-fetched without a significant power shift in the House.
right. And the fact that Bernie doesn't seem to acknowledge this and has failed to raise money for down ballot candidates is extremely troubling.

I literally don't even know how to respond to this. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that I don't need an abortion during the dark years.
And I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't have to try to feed your kids on $0 income one day.
I think the idea that Hillary can get Congress to cooperate more easily than Bernie is one of the more outlandish things I've heard.
The hatred on the right for her is unparalleled. They hate her worse than Obama. The explanations for why don't matter. No Congressman from a Tea Party district will be allowed to vote for anything she wants and keep his/her seat. Get real!
I never said Hillary would have an easier time. I asked how Bernie would get them to work with him.
The support for legitimately conservative ideals among the electorate is actually really low. You don't think Congressmen will have an easier time voting for the non-Democrat Democrat's plan and facing their voters back home? You don't think his refusal to jump on the wedge issue of gun control is going to pay off there, too?
The entire political spectrum has shifted right, in response to far-right bullying. I don't like where the Democratic party is; I want it to be more progressive. So am I supposed to accept the Democratic party without question? Or if I support liberal ideals, can I (or Bernie) try to change the party?
What is the Democratic party if not a reflection of the people who decide to be in it, for any portion of time? Are you not a Dem if you've never changed affiliation? Is there a rule for how long you have to wear the label before it's legit? Are you more of a Democrat if you're routinely elected as a D in rural areas as pro-union but oppose LGBT rights, women's rights, environmental protection, etc?
Except, he's not a democrat. I mean, you can say all that above, sure. Yet in his several decades long career as a politician, Bernie has done nothing to help the Democratic party. He's PROUD of not ever being a democrat.
OK, Debbie. How many voters are really obsessed with brand loyalty? Very few, I hope. Helping The Party is not the same as helping the coalition of voters and politicians and the legislation they create.
I am actually blown away by how much people here support Hillary. The most focus-group sculpted candidate of our lifetime. It's so confusing.
My heart is Bernie or Bust, but I know what I'll have to do if she's the nominee. I'll hate myself for it, though. I have no idea how she'll govern. Probably center-right except for women's issues. I do not trust a single word that comes out of her mouth.
But even as a woman at risk of having her uterus ruled by the GOP, the issues Bernie has focused on are by far more important. Our entire way of life depends on a functioning economy and every day we don't reform it, the more probable it is that the US empire will fully crumble sooner rather than later.
Bringing down Wall Street is more important to you that women having equal rights?

Haven't we just been told over the past 7 years that the President can't do all of this shit on his own? How does Bernie work with Congress to get these things accomplished? This is a very simple question that I can't get answered. Tell me how Congress doesn't just laugh in his face and make his life more miserable than Obama's?
I think ordinarily Hillary would likely have the same problem except I am pretty sure she knows skeletons in people's closet and is not afraid to use them.

It's not just the GOP. The Dems aren't going to support him either. A big clue to this is the Super Delegates not supporting him. He's done absolutely nothing to support the down-ballet Dems. As in, the last time I checked to see what he has raised for campaigns other than his, the total was $0.
And to be fair, why should the Dems support him when HE'S NOT EVEN A DEMOCRAT?

fenton , are you coming back or did you just post that rant to get us fired up on a slow Friday?
I've gotten myself into more demanding jobs, so I can't hang out here all day, but I can return more often to break the Hillary hypnosis infecting this place!

What does this mean? Reform the economy how?
I think part of the struggle he has is that the problems that create banking institutions that are too big to fail (and too well lobbied to fail) are complex and don't lend themselves to 60 second answers that the general public can absorb. He's right to stay away from getting into the mechanics because what the solution will look like probably wouldn't turn out how he'd describe it anyway (compare Obama's promises on healthcare to how ACA works). These are not impossible headscratchers, first and foremost, get someone to enforce the rules that exist.
If you want an example, part of the issue is the revolving door between regulator jobs in government and the institutions. I don't know what the exact text of a non-compete here should be, but you cannot go from regulation back into the private sector and then reap the rewards of a system you fixed, or at least allowed to operate dysfunctionally so that you could later profit. Will it be tricky to prevent? Yes, but we can't afford to not try everything possible to limit it.

I feel like this election could be Hillary's for the taking, and yet she's slowly blowing it.
Seriously. She needs to get this shit together already. The republicans are self destructing. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HARD.
Or, this is just the best she can do? She has racked up a lot of experience, piling hard work on top of a whole 'lotta name recognition. That doesn't mean she is a leader, an innovative thinker, or a person of integrity. Just sayin'.
I'm really surprised at all the genuine support for her on this board. I will vote for her if she becomes the nominee, but she is a seriously flawed candidate AT BEST. Bernie isn't perfect either, but Clinton is a special kind of disaster.
Being slightly to the left of Senate Democrats and being in step with them other times they've been painfully wrong does not make one a liberal.
And looking at the issues she had the occasion to vote on while ignoring centrist/right-leaning positions she did not directly vote on is a political slight of hand she would be proud of. A++
I'm surprised anyone is surprised by this. She is barely passable as a liberal candidate. Rewriting history with enhanced Reagan fawning is right up her alley.
This is just silly. Hillary Clinton is and has been a liberal for a long long time.

CS, babe. You know most people who are racist don't come at it like, "Fucking black people, I hate them!" It usually IS self-proclaimed "good" intent mixed with ignorance, like "I love black people, they make great football players!"
