I have been reminiscing - silver sage paint, the swirly votive holder, so many people painting the stripes on their walls with different sheens of paint. The popular girls with their simple human garbage cans haha. Remember tne annual awards where you entered your decor photo in different categories and we all voted? Ornament exchanges, candle exchanges. I cant remember so many people's names but I remember berrysweet, whatwedding, tarheelsandrebels, kacie leigh, g&d, bryn, holly, katie numbers, katie bower, jhawks, dairy, emofllamingo. So funnyy how many blogging celebrities were on the boards years ago!
We were a tight group! It was so awesome for me in my early married years to have the board for advice and friendship when I disnt have many friends IRL that were in a similar life stage. I miss it! I dont come on here anymore very often, but I do pop on and read a couple times a year. I dont see many names I recognize anymore so I dont usually stick around much. Maybe we need to revive the old gang! I miss the ornament exchange at Christmas... remember the vagina ornament jokes?
I just finished the Magnolia story. I have only seen a few episodea of the show and thought it would be more about their road to fame and behind the scenes of the show and their renovations, the running of the market etc. It was not what I expected and felt like a disjointed conversation, with lots of awkward stories and rehashing of their childhoods and early marriage with some embarrassing tmi thrown in.
I am now reading a YA novel, its the book chosen for a big library read. Its definitely a fluff YA book but is written well and is suspenseful enough to keep me turning pages.
I jave wide calk boota from payless shoes and lane bryant and love both. Look for ones with a ribben stretch panel in them, to help with the different sized legs. Or even boots with laces or an expanding buckle on the back, to be able to adjust the width of the boot shaft.
I have two friends with Ikea kitchens. One friend has a light maple look cabinetry, and it has held up well for 10 plus years. The hardware was also from Ikea in a brushed sating finish and it has almost completely worn off to reveal a gold underlayer.
The other friends just installed their kitchen last year, in a white shaker style. It looks very pretty and they said they are happy with it.
Do you notice a difference between a high end curlwr and a drugstore one? I had a japonesque one for a few years and honestly preferred my cheap drugstore one which is what I still use. Worth it to invest in a good one again or mo?
I was thinking the other day about a blogger/nestie who used to be super popular. I was curious to see if she still blogs but cant remember her name.
She blogged about her depression and struggles with I think a miscarriage or stillbirth and then having a son. On the nest she was often attacked for her bold opinions but had a huge fan following that always defended her. She had a fake name for herself and then "revealed" her real name and changed her blog name to match it. She wrote a lot about her parenting struggles and was really controversial.  She was a working mom ....hmm that's about all I can remember. Not much to go on I know but maybe it will ring a bell? I want to say her name was ruth-anne or something hyphonated?
Our library has sweet prizes each week and I really want to win. Its a random draw, you get one entry per book ypu read that completes a challenge. Its usually a big tote bag with a book or two, gift card to a book store, chocolate, and some sort of summer item like a beach towel or water bottle.
Currently I am rereading 1984 as a "favorite you are rereading" and The Book of Secrets as a "book with a red cover" challenge.
my library has a summer reading club and this is one of the tasks on the list. None of the books on my " to read" list are that short. Any suggestions?
We have a coupon for buy one, get one free but I have never used that brand. Doesn't have to be the best paint in the world, but I hate using cheap watery crap paint.
I meant i know i can pair it with jeans or black pants, neutral colored tops. Lookin gfor more creative ideas as mixing pieces and putting together colors is hard for me
I just picked up a dark green blazer today - i really struggle with fashion and need visual inspiration to put outfits together. Anyone have a green blazer and have some suggestions or photos of what I csn pair it with besides the obvious?
Anyone getting the jaclyn hill/becca trio palette? I was excited for it but after seeing the inside not so much. I am very confused by the copper shade and what you are supposed to do with it
Aw thank you!!!! Want to ship it first and let me know what i owe you for shipping and the cost of buying them? Or i can guesstimate and send you money first?
I got the bare minerals lipstick in break away based on seeing it on someone in the face of the day posts on here. Love it! Been topping it with mac nymphette gloss and love that combo. Also i finally found wnw ryc powder and have been liking it as a finishing powder!
We have house guests coming soon - I usually make breakfast and dinner for everyone and just encourage everyone to help themselves at lunch time, due to my schedule. I like to have some things made up and handy in the fridge - usually I make a pot of soup for easy lunches but it's too hot out for soup to be appealing.
I will have sandwich supplies, salad fixings, etc. but would like to make Somwthing up that they can just grab and microwave if they want.
