Fair enough, Miso. To answer the question the "richest" people I know are my co-workers.
They make their money by maxing out the highest government employee pay and then making overtime, Sunday pay, special incentives and night dif on top of the 180,000 that government employees make.
They are all different types of people but every single one is quirky in some way, including me. I don't think you can handle this career unless you're a bit off.

I could have been in this very same court case. Easily.
Instead of letting a court dictate my baby's food I chose to stop breastfeeding so that my daughter could have more time with her dad. I don't regret it, not for a second. Before this article it wasn't even a ping on my radar.
The time and bonding with him was much more important than breast milk (IMO, my specific situation of course)

Air traffic controller. You talk to pilots all day but it's via callsigns so it doesn't actually feel like talking to people. It's just fitting a puzzle together and giving instructions to tell them what they need to do.
Unfortunately, you need to be younger than 31 to get started so if you're over that age than disregard!
This sort of happened to me. I was flying home from a long international flight and was jet lagged and groggy. I saw my departure city, my boarding pass was scanned and I got on the flight. A couple minutes before the flight was scheduled to leave another passenger showed up with the same seat assignment. We were all really confused; turned out my ticket was for the next flight. How I was ever able to board is beyond me. It was so weird. But yes, I got off the flight and onto my next flight an hour later. This is horrible and the United FA handled this terribly. I hate that the lady was probably too frightened to speak up. The the guy flying stand-by? I'm really curious to find out if he was a paying passenger or non revving. Did they say?
One of her complaints was that she paid $969 for that seat and the guy that actually got the seat paid $75.
We have a ton of friends leaving Denver's rising cost of living for.. Columbus. I've never been there, but apparently it's starting to boom and has a similar lifestyle to Denver.
The burbs of Denver are still decently priced, especially up north. For Denver city center, I'm finding similar pricing here in Redondo, Manhattan, and Huntington for condos.
I pay 2100 a month for a 2 bed 2 bath apt. in south Denver and to buy a sfh it's about 650,000 to 700,000 in this school boundary line. I don't get paying that much money for this weather and not being close to the coast. People adore Denver, though. I thought I was going to before I moved here.

Oh man, I'm moving to south bay (redondo) next month and I'm worried the hcol is going to drive me crazy. My suggestions from my past expriences are Raleigh, Portland, and Charleston. I'm in Denver now and I'm ready to get back to a coast so I wouldn't recommend that. I hope you find what you're looking for!

In the trunk I have an ice scraper, umbrella, and an emergency kit that has a flashlight, mini tire air compressor, jump starter, etc. In the front I have a sun shade in the back seat and regristration/ insurance card in the glove box.
