We are still waiting on the police report. DH has been calling them daily. The wreck was on 5/1. He's left numerous messages for the cop to call him, and apparently the phone answerer chick never passed on the message (it was their idea to contact the officer, and DH said she had an attitude). He finally called today. He said that he never got the message to call DH. The officer didn't make a report because no one was injured and it was clear who caused the wreck. DH called both insurance agencies and gave them the officer's number. Hopefully now progressive will accept fault and we'll get our deductible and rental fees back.
You would be surprised how often that happens. Now that they know there is no police report, they should determine liability quickly.
I really hope you're right. The officer should tell them that it was obviously the other guy's fault. I wonder if he'll be uninsured now that they can't get ahold of him.
DH goes to work at 5am. The other guy fell asleep. There was an abandoned car on the left shoulder. Apparently he woke up right before hitting it, swerved to the right, and sideswiped DH. Both cars went in circles, and DH said his went up in the air a bit at least once. They hit the guard rail, and very nearly went off of the embankment. DH's airbags went off. This was on a major highway. The other car wasn't completely out of the road and was hit at least 2 more times after the wreck. Both cars were totaled, no one was hurt.

I always thought they were required to make a report if there were any injuries or more than $5,000 in damage. This sounds like there would definitely be significant enough damage to do a report. The cop was being lazy

This. I think the officer is in error. But glad things are moving more quickly!
