I just saw this on my FB feed and went after I read it.
"Kudos to those that have endured months and years of cancer treatments. I can't even imagine the physical and mental exhaustion associated with such a battle. Being sick for 3 days with a minor infection was a reality check for me. A new found respect for the human spirit to perservere."
I work with this person and he had a sinus infection. He is also a major AW. I've seen so many people close to me suffer from cancer and to compare it to a sinus infection makes me want to punch him in the balls.
I want to throatpunch your co-worker right now. So hard.
There's currently a Time Magazine breastfeeding cover debate raging all over the place on my Facebook feed. Complete with women telling men they have no say in how any child is raised because they don't have a vagina. And this gem: "Until you've given birth, you don't get a say in anything because you have the wrong parts and know shit about shit when it comes to parenting. Your opinion is a joke." This might ACTUALLY by a situation where "I feel sorry for her husband" is a completely appropriate response.

I had one that was on my feed where some guy posted "I hate watching my wife go through this. I would do anything to take this away from her and take it on myself instead. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers." I read through the comments and she has hyperemesis (severe morning sickness). While I'm sure that's awful, I definitely rolled my eyes.

I've had a "pray for me, I'm having morning sickness and I want to drive today." Are you kidding me?

Hyperemesis can be debilitating, you can be on bed rest for months and unable to get nutrition other than through an IV. The baby and mother can both be in danger in extreme cases, so asking for T&P is not really out of line IMHO

Yeah, my old dcp had to hook herself up to an iv at night. That's no joke.

Yeah, a coworker of mine had a PICC line in for her entire pregnancy and was literally unable to eat solid food for MONTHS. Obviously that's an extreme case, but I wouldn't roll my eyes too much until I knew for sure.
On the other hand, there are pregnant women who come into the ER for vomiting all the time, and the majority of them are absolutely fine and just being drama-whores. So I can see both sides.
Oh, I know it can be serious but later on in the comments he said she started mess that morning and was feeling great that night, so it wasn't a severe case. I suppose I should have included that.
