A Cars 2 airplane my kid has been begging for for MONTHS. It's been discontinued from stores. He still faithfully looks for it every time we're in Target. He's going to freak.
In addition to his other presents I got my husband three onesies from the baby. They say, "I listen to hiphop with my Daddy," "I speak fluent wookie" with a picture of a baby Chewbacca, and one has an old school nintendo screen and says, "new game." He'll love them for all their geeky glory.
I scanned some old faded handwritten family recipes from my grandmother and great grandmother, cleaned them up in photoshop, and had them printed on kitchen towels for my mom. They turned out awesome--I'm really excited for her to see them!

Sadly, I don't have any fun gifts so far. Most of what/who's on my list so far, will have a watch, a dress on her wishlist, cash, and GC's. I'm a practical giver.
I haven't bought it, but maybe the Williams-Sonoma croissants I will send to my gf back home. She's a foodie so she may appreciate it.

Two years ago, DH, FIL, BILs and I went to a breast cancer event with my mother in law (who was battling breast cancer at the time). There was a pink fire truck that people could sign. She passed away this summer, but the rest of us went back to this event this October. We went to look at the fire truck and found the message she has signed privately (among thousands). It was a good bye message with a brief note to each of us. It was emotional, but amazing, and the person who owns the trucks said that we should enjoy it, because signatures usually fade after a year or two. No one had a camera, so we just looked at it.
I snuck out of the hotel later in the day and bought a disposable digital camera at CVS and got pictures of the signature. A friend touched it up and darkened MILs words. I had prints made and framed for everyone (including H). No one even knows I have a pictures, so I am really excited. It might be a little emotional, but I think they will be glad to have it.
It wasn't a holiday gift, but I bought my mom a super pretty Coach bag in black cherry (her favorite color). I gave it to her right after her dad died. I figured she needed a present to cheer her up, even if just for a moment.
My cousin is a huge LOTR fan. She didn't even tell her mom what she wanted for Christmas and all we know is she just LOVES LOTR.
Well, I realized one night that the most awesome thing I have from my Star Wars collection is my framed (and matted) stamps. I went on ebay and from LOTR stamps issued in New Zealand and got her some sets that I'll frame and matte to give her. I am so psyched.

My Dad's friend died unexpectedly in May. I was cleaning and randomly came across a picture of the two of them together. I framed it and I can't wait to give it to him. I don't even think he knew the picture existed!
