I like them so it must be a regional thing. The produce is always super fresh and juicy with plenty of flavor. And they come wrapped up so that doesn't bother me. I love chocolate covered anything so that helps too.
I've gotten my mom one for her birthday and my nephews a mickey mouse one for their birthdays and I've only heard good things. I've tried the chocolate covered strawberries and they are good.

I sent one to my grandma, she thought it was fantastic, but I suppose she could have been lying. I think that I sent her pineapple chunks dipped in dark chocolate.
I worked at one of these places in college. The cookies aren't as fresh as you'd like them to be. They use a drill bit device to drill out the hole for the wooden dowel. That's pretty crunchy.
