Yes. This year he took us to lunch at a fancy place...gave us $75 starbucks gc, $25 to a local sub shop, and a bottle of wine. His wife also put together baskets of homemade chocolates and snacks for us. I love my boss. (There are 2 of us that work for him)
Mine did, we did our exchange today. His wife actually did the shopping for most of them.
Haha! I just clicked this from the sticky post hoping for ideas because I'm now the boss for this group and need ideas. I know 2 of them pretty well, but the 3rd is a mystery. I know he likes his dog, that's about it. He's single and not really dating so no easy "gc for a nice date night" things either.
Maybe? We are doing a secret santa and I don't know who has me.
FI's boss gives all the women (employees or SOs) gifts though. Last time it was a $250 gc to Tiffany's. I don't know why he doesn't just stick with gifts for the employees, regardless of gender.
Aside from my bonus, he gave me some gloves (lol) and $250 in cash he told me to use on myself for a haircut and makeover (I talked about wanting/needing a makeover).
I'm glad you included that because I was indignant on your behalf for that first part.
Yes. Depending on the boss (and the size of his/her team), I've received small token gifts (chocolate, coffee) and some nicer things. I usually get something for my direct reports (and something smaller for the larger team) and then make some sort of food item for the office.
Oh eff. This reminds me I need to get my admin a gift. For some reason, everyone gives admins gifts. Mine does nothing for me except runs my expenses every 2 weeks and books travel for me about once a month so this always makes me salty.
People tend to give lower level employees a bottle of booze. The two that work for me are long distance and I took them out for lunch & drinks last time I was at their office so I won't get them anything additional. I'm also covering for them over Christmas while they go on vacation because I am nice. I also assume I won't be getting anything wine/booze from my bosses either because I am long distance to them too
No. When I was in management my boss took the other managers and me out to lunch and I gace my direct reports $10 GCs to Barnes and Noble or Starbucks.
I get a bonus from the company for being in upper management, $100 is a Christmas card that's handed out to all employees, and a leather handbag from my boss.

My current boss gave me a $25 Starbucks gift card last year. My old boss gave me a Coach purse one year and $100 in various gift cards the year before.

Bonus is usually given out the 23rd of December but we also cant count on it, as technically its a profit share. Early in my career i received this 3times a year now we're down to once. Better than nothing though.
Where I am now I have no clue. And I'm leaving next week, so I don't care
Where I'm going, I've worked before. Traditionally he gives us small or group gifts. One year he made homemade limoncello for the office And the first year I was there, I was expected to go in on something for him with my co-workers.

Our company flies everyone into Seattle every other year for a huge party. This is the off year but because we bought a company boss wanted to show a good front. So everyone in the 2 main locations get a dinner party. He's sending those of us outside (actually he's tasked me with mailing them and signing them on his behalf!) $100 gift cards to the other staff. I'm a little pissed because I planned the other dinner parties but yet get nothing extra or comparable in exchange!
