I just got a Kindle Fire and I LOVE it! I actually switched over from a Nook Color too. Anyway, I'm a huge book worm. Some of the favs I read this year:
The Baker's Daughter by Sarah McCoy - I commented on her book on Goodreads, she responded and turned out we went to the same college at the same time! This is my favorite book this year.
The Lost Wife by Alyson Richman
The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom
Blackberry Winter by Sarah Jio. If you like this one, you'll also like her other two books

I'm currently reading Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. I just finished her Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy. If you like any YA books these are really good.
For light reading I just read Jillian Dodd's That Boy and That Wedding. They were really cute.
I just finished reading The Philanthropist Danse by Paul Wornham. Oh it was so good. I'm looking for another book to read now. Oh and Gone Girl was a good book as well...
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." - Unknown
"Let's Pretend This Never Happened" by Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess) is $1.99 today for Nook and Kindle, not sure if that price is today only.
I also really enjoyed: -Bossypants by Tina Fey -Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling -Gay Men Don't Get Fat by Simon Doonan (he's Johnathan Adler's husband) -My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler -Why is My Mother Getting a Tattoo? (and Other Questions I Wish I Never Had to Answer) by Jancee Dunn (she used to work for Rolling Stone Magazine) -You Better Not Cry by Augusten Burroughs -Naked and Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris -Scruples by Judith Kranz (man that makes me feel old recommending that, I swear I'm only 31) -Rothstein by David Pietrusza
I'm loving a lot of YA stuff lately - Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, and Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor are good ones I've read this year.
Also, I always recommend the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. It's intimidating at first because of the size of the books and the first 150ish pages of the first books are hard to get through, but it's so wonderfully written and such a great story that I always recommend people try it.

I just finished A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff. It's about a vintage clothing expert who opens her own shop and seeks out the stories to the clothes she buys. It was a really quick, fun read and very interesting.
I also like most of what Beth Harbison writes including Shoe Addicts Anonymous, Hope In A Jar, and Secrets of a Shoe Addict. I keep things pretty light with reading.
