No. Both my kids BF for at least two years. DS1 had RSV as a baby, enough ear infections that he had tubes by one, and has asthma now. DS2 has been generally very healthy--an ear infection or mild cold here and there, but nothing more. I think it's luck of the draw. My ped was convinced that the fact that he was BFing contributed to mildness of DS1's RSV, but who knows.

DS is 6 months and hasn't been sick yet. I SAH and think that makes more of a difference than bf. H has only been sick once (mild cold) in the 11 years we've been together. I'm hoping ds gets his super genes.

Ds has never gotten sick from me when I was sick. I assume it was because he was getting my immunities from my specific sickness. He got rsv but it was very mild and he has gotten ear infections but never showed any symptoms except a little worse sleep than normal. I obviously have no clue what would happen if we ff instead. I do not think breastfeeding is some magical vaccination against sickness that prevents everything. I do think research has shown it lessens the severity of symptoms. But kids are going to go sick no matter what especially if they are in daycare or school

Eh, who knows? Dd has yet to get really, really sick. She's had a few colds and a few stomach bugs but nothing that has ever required a sick baby visit. She just started preschool in the fall, so I'm sure the sicknesses will come as she has been home with me thus far. Fwiw, I was only bf for two months and was a relatively healthy child.

DS is BF and has had only 2-3 minor runny noses. He's about 7.5 mo. But, I SAH and we're not around other moms or babies much, so that's probably more likely the reason for his good health. I haven't noticed any difference in health between FF and BF babies of my friends IRL.
