I love my keurig! Mine broke after 2 years of daily use. So I bought the Mr. Coffee imitation that uses k cups..DON"T DO IT! I repeat..DON"T DO IT!!! It is cheaper but it takes 8 minutes to make one cup. Hell I could have a whole pot in that amount of time.. So DH bought me a new keuring for CHristmas. However, SIL told me she jsut calls the company when her's breaks (4 kids and 2 adults using it daily). They talk her through a few things. If it is still broken they send her new one in UPS two days later! Also Sams has the best deal on k-cups. $29.95/80!!! That is awesome. Now it is the caribou or folgers brand but it is still a great deal. NOW that is MM
Ditto calling the company. They are wonderful. I thought mine was dying but they walked me through how to fix it. They sent the In,aws a new one for free !
I've been using the one my mom just bought while we're visiting. I love all the different types of drinks. I miss my Nespresso machine back home. The Keuring is fun, but Nespresso coffee tastes the best.
I have a Nespresso and have been trying to figure out whether to get a Keurig too. I rovi ally just make an Americano or a double long shot if I want a cup of coffee. But sometimes I wonder if I should get a Keurig. Even though I've cycled through them and never liked the coffee (but then I think "maybe the coffee is better now). LOL, I am crazy.
Elle, how do you make an Americano with the Nespresso? I want to do it but I don't know how. All I've made are espresso, lattes, a cappuccino.
I think I technically make a reverse Americano, but basically, just run a shot through without a capsule in (so it is just hot water), then oput in a capsule and make a shot of espresso. You can experiment with the regular and long shots, and the proportion of water, from there. A true Americano would put the shot in the bottom and the water on top, but I prefer the coffee on top to keep the crema.
Also, I use it to make tea (or hot chocolate or cider) the same way (by just running water through with no capsule). Then you have to do a cleansing shot to get the coffee out but it's nice to have hot water on tap.
