We're pretty new to the area, so we only have work friends who probably wouldnt come. We don't hang out with anyone, but we could invite our next door neighbors. Other than that, just both sets of grandparents. They'll come, but they're 2 and 4 hour away. We have other friends who are all around 2 hours away, some may come.
Oh. I totally get that then. I'd probably just do a small thing then with her and my H and the grandparents if they wanted to make the trip.
That's sort of what my plan was. By next year, she'll have some daycare friends and I can be party ish. I'm sure ill still be a little crafty about something. A banner or something

I'm stealing Ouiser's idea in a general sense and doing Alice in Wonderland. Maybe call it her first Un-birthday, which might not make sense since it *will* be her birthday.
We're doing the Eleanor in ONEderland tea party theme. SO many cute ideas for that on Pinterest. I'm getting excited already, and she's a May baby, lol! (May 2nd)
Haha cute catchphrase! I was thinking a wonderland-type tea party too, but was sure how to cutely word it.
I can't take credit. I'm a Pinterest whore. I could spend days on there.
Muppet, there are some cute stuffed animals. I'm going tomorrow to stock up on the books. They have the coordinating book and stuffed animal and they have Horton and I am so-so-so excited to buy him!!!!!! You might be able to order them online?
ETA: They have them online! They have last months on sale for $2.50! It's such a steal. I'd link but I'm on my phone. Just google "kohls cares" and I think it's like 3 links down.
This is awesome! I even have $5 Kohl's cash to use!
Trudy, I love the idea of Cute as a Button! I want to steal it and spend hours gluing buttons on to things and making buttons out of fondant for cupcakes - I could seriously devote my life to it.
I think I'll do a comic book theme for Hank but I'm not sure yet. It think it'll probably wind up looking like the vintage superhero stuff pp's were talking about.
I don't understand not having anyone to invite? I don't mean that snarky....just who do you spend any time with? Invite them.
We will invite my family, H`s family and both our friends. some have kids, some don't. just people who are involved in her life.
In all honesty, the only person I spend time with is my H. So unfortunately we are the only ones involved in his life.
My entire family lives over 2500 miles away- spread out between 4 states. DH's family lives about an hour away and they consider it an ordeal to come to our house so they have only been twice in the 3 years since we moved to the suburbs. My friends who are left in the city don't leave the city...it's just how most city people are because they do not have cars and such. My other friends from work and college have moved out of state.
I think it is easier if you live near your families/ where you grew up or do not live in a megalopolis like NyC where everyone is SO spread out. Life is just sort of different around here.

I want to try to make fondant buttons! Can I do it? I don't think I'm that crafty.
