I'm never one to start losing weight in the new year because it seems so cliche (and I hate that!), but there's a group of friends who are starting up and I decided to join them. So, I'm THAT new year resolution chick.
My goal is to lose 30 pounds by the end of June. I've been tracking my calories for the last week (and staying under 1300). I'm starting the Advocare 24 day challenge on Monday to kick-start the year, and then plan to just stick with whole foods, lean proteins, etc. I promised the dog that we'd go on more walks together, too.
I'm trying not to make it about a number this year, since it's never worked for me before. Instead I'm going to commit to working out every Saturday & Sunday and add days in a few months.
I'm also going to focus on eating low carb, eating breakfast at home and packing my lunch 4x a week.

I lost a lot of weight a few years back and have since gained about 10'lbs back. I'd like to lose it again before I spiral out of control.
In all honesty, I'm assuming its only 10 lbs. I'm terrified to get on the scale. A comment was made about my weight at a NYE party last night. It's the kick in the butt I needed.
ETA my plan: I started tracking my food on MFP today and when my kids go back to school on Monday I will be back at the gym. Mine doesn't offer childcare so it's not an option to go right now.
I'd like to lose 20 more. I'm down 32 using the my fitness pal app and I started running. I won't be doing much running while it's cold though.
I also use an accountability app called GymPact. You make a deal that you will go to the gym or run at least x times per week or pay $5 for each time you miss (you check-in with GPS). At the end of the week, the money from those who miss is collected and paid out to those who completed their pact. I'm averaging about $0.45 per workout I complete of free money.
I'm not really going to focus on the pounds this year because I've been lifting really heavy, especially these past couple of months and have been gaining. I'm trying to do another powerlifting meet in the spring so I want to make some new personal records. My shirts and jackets no longer fit because my arms and back have gotten bigger and now my pants have to go up in size because of my thighs! I was pondering on doing Whole 30 though. I may just bite the bullet and start tomorrow.

G and I took "before pictures" tonight. They were a real slap in the face, moreso than the number on the scale. I feel as though I dress my weight relatively well so seeing bra and panty pictures was a real eye opener.

I love this! I'm going to look into it.
As for the OP, I would love to lose 20lbs. That would put me at me goal weight, which is where I was when I met DH nearly 10 years ago. I plan to be more consistent with working out, including running 3x/week and interval or weight training at least 2x/week. I also need to stop. I need to cut out mindless eating, which is my biggest diet issue, along with better meal planning.
I lost about 50 last year, and I have about 70 more to lose (I think? I have no idea what my goal weight should be since I've been overweight since my teenage years..) I'd be ecstatic to lose another 50 in 2013! :-)

I'm 29 weeks PG, and up about 20lbs. Much better than last time, when I gained 42lbs in 36 weeks. I'm hoping I can keep to around a 30lb weight gain, so I'd just like to lose whatever I gained. I was at a pretty comfortable weight when I got pg. I'd also like to start running again while on maternity leave, so that when I get back to work, I'm used to running 2-3 miles 4 times a week. We have showers at work, so I could even run at lunch now and then (when I actually take a lunch).
I want to exercise regularly and be able to run a couple 5ks this summer. We have already agreed to cook healthy meals and cut back on eating out/frozen crap. I am taking healthier snacks to work.
I really want to make being healthy an important part of my life.
My goal is to get my BMI under 28, so I can qualify for a shared risk IVF program. I need to lose 48 pounds to make that happen. I lost 13 between August and October, but fell off the wagon in November and December. I will be using MFP to track calories and plan on working out at least 3x per week. Good luck everyone!

I need to lose a lot of weight. I started working on it about 2 months ago. I'm trying to set mini goals of 20 pounds at a time. I'm 3 pounds from my first goal.
My plan for the rest is continue training for 5k's- one of my goals is to complete at least 6 in 2013.
Also, I've decided to cut all meat products from my diet. More so because of environmental issues, but if I lose weight as a side effect, that would certainly be nice.
I think I have about 30-40 pounds to lose. I need to get on the scale.
I started up with MyFitnessPal today and ordered a FitBit. I go back to work tomorrow so I'm hoping not being around the house all day will help curb mindless snacking.
I think losing weight while BFing might suck, though, because I'm always hungry. I am giving myself a little slack on my workouts until I get the working mom thing down. Ultimately my goal is CrossFit 2-3 times a week and at least one session a week on our home treadmill.
I need to lose 106 lbs. I've gained around 45 lbs since I joined grad school.
I just signed up for MFP, but I don't know how to add anyone based on their screen name, only email. If you can, add me (greencrayon23)
Goals: -Finish C25K (I'm on week 2, but I think I need to get new shoes. Running makes my shins hurt) -Work out 4x/week -Drink only water/protein shakes
