Running and cake decorating. I'd do cake decorating a lot more if I didn't have to clean up and all my icing/fondant colors were just waiting for me. :-) That part is not fun.
Oh yeah. I forgot piano and guitar. We just got a piano for christmas. I want to teach the kids. This way we can cheap out on paying for lessons.
How fun! Wanna teach me? I can come over for lessons at the same time you give 'em to the kids, LOL.
Yes! I'd rather teach you than Kid 1 any day!!! We're still working on fingering and scales. But they love just playing around on it. It's digital so we can control the volume, thank god.
Oh, I guess home improvement would be a hobby of mine too. I don't think of it as one but it really is. I actually do a LOT of what I pin on Pinterest.
Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed. - G. K. Chesterton
Running and reading I guess would be the two bigger ones that I do with any sort of consistency. I enjoy baking but I don't do it that often because I'd gain massive amounts of weight.
About two years ago I took some knitting classes. It wasn't that hard to learn, I just didn't keep up with it. I might try again.
I don't know if it's a hobby or something more serious, but I love studying languages. Now I'm learning French and while my level isn't excellent I can say that I can maintain a conversation and understand almost everything on a text.
Do you teach yourself with books and an audio program, or do you take classes?
I take classes at the Alliance Francaise, where they have great native teachers. This helps a lot to learn the correct pronunciations from the start and also to learn not only the "correct" French but also the informal French that everyone uses on a daily basis.
Yoga (home practice), baking/cooking, and reading are the current ones. I'd love to start ballet again but it doesn't fit the budget right now. If money were no object, I'd love to start horse riding again, since I took classes in college and loved it.

That's awesome. I bet it's so fulfilling to learn a new language. I'm impressed.

Actually it's awesome! It's not only fulfilling watching you improve everyday but it's also wonderful how your vision of the world grows and expands. Not to brag or anything but apart from English and French I'm also fluent in Spanish and it's incredible how your world grows as you're able to read and get to know about other cultures.
By the way, I can't wait to complete my French classes and start with German or Portuguese!
Hobbies I currently do- home improvement, reading, Jazzercise/Zumba, wine (we belong to several local wineries and help with bottling and grafting, so it's more than just buying it at the store. That is how I justify wine as a hobby), cooking.
Things I should do more of- photography, blogging, hiking

- Exercise: running and my bootcamp workout group. I am aiming to do 13 races this year, including a half marathon, two or three triathalons and maybe a duathalon, and an obstacle race with my group. I need to get my training plan together stat!
- Miscellaneous crafty and home improvement projects: furniture refinishing/flipping, making pillows and curtains, landscaping, etc. This is more on an 'as needed' basis and the landscaping is a seasonal work in progress.
-Planning trips/travel: we don't travel too much, but when we do I research extensively and plan down to the last detail. Even places we visit multiple times a year I try to plan something different each visit to keep it fun and interesting.
I really want to get back into taking some sort of exercise class. There's a pure barre studio really close to me and I have a background in ballet and dance.
I keep telling myself it's too expensive and I don't have time, but I think I'd love it. Two of my neighbors go.. I need to do it!
I'm starting Pure Barre classes when the studio opens in February. I've heard such good things about it. You need to make time to go!
I like to think of shopping as my hobby DH and I both like shopping and finding good deals on things we need. I like to read and decorate my house, I also am not afraid to tackle home improvement type jobs on my own. I really enjoy planning parties for my kids and holidays and hope to have tons of space to host them one day. I used to enjoy playing sports and Yoga, and plan to try getting back into running as it warms up here.
This makes me sad. I feel like I don't have any hobbies or anything that I really love doing.
I used to run marathons, but got injured. I read a lot, but that is boring. I like to shop, but that is shallow. I guess eating and friends are my hobbies.
I do scrapbooking, though admittedly it's been many months since I last did that. I go in spurts I guess. I've been thinking about doing it a lot lately, though, so as soon as I finish up a few other small house projects that are sucking up "hobby" time, I'm going to do some.
I also read, but I'm not as active with that as I'd like to be lately. I really should be spending my evenings reading vs reading GBCN but I get too drawn into the internet.
I guess I could call running a hobby now too. I do it for fitness, but I've kept doing running vs something else mostly because doing 5k races is fun. I'm not competitive (if I was, I'd lose every time lol) but I like doing them.

I think I'm a jack of several trades and master of none. I enjoy photography, cooking, organizing, fitness, and real simple crafts. I'm not particularly good at any of them, but they are fun to me.
I really struggled with finding a hobby after grad school. For so long, going to school at night WAS my hobby. I did start to sew, cross stitch, and run. I really want to find something else. DH has a million hobbies and I am jealous.
I'm a serial hobbyist, especially when I have the cash.
I've tried knitting, crochet, writing/illustrating children's books, scrapbooking, blogging, drawing. I pick them up and abandon them again as I get bored.
The ones I've stuck with are cooking, baking, and wasting time on the internet. I guess at this point you could say planning my imaginary wedding on Pinterest is a hobby.

Reading, soccer, eating, blogging. I'm getting more into photography.
I don't feel like Crossfit counts as a hobby (yet?), it's just my exercise program. And I feel like travel isn't really a hobby either, since it's more involved and not something I do as often as the others.
I don't have a lot thought I love to read, I've been lazy lately and when I'm home I'm either cleaning or watching TV and surfing the web, I need to change that.
Things I would like to pick back up: Running and Sewing.
Reading and cross stitch. My sister and I finished a vintage pattern cross stitch quilt top that we had hand quilted and gave to my parents as a surprise 35th wedding anniversary gift. I would love to take a sewing class.

Interesting! I wrote a short series of children's books. They're mostly for family members, but I thought about getting them illustrated and gifting them. We should talk about this.
