Congrats to Kate and her new little guy! Heather, it will be your turn before you know it. Good luck with everything!
Nothing new to report since last week. I have been making attempts for Ethan to try rice cereal, but we haven't gotten very far and needless to say I haven't been trying very hard either. Pedi said his daily formula intake is a bit high, but since he is a bigger baby, she isn't concerned. She advised it was ok to try and start the cereal and then move to some veggies. I need to get better at trying the cereal when he isn't completely starving, because then all he wants is the bottle. I think that is causing some of the issue. Or maybe he just isn't ready, but considering what a piggie he is, I would think he would like to add some food to his daily formula extravaganza!

We try to do it about an hour after his bottle. But like you said, he just might not be ready. Give it a week or 2 and try again!

Things here are good! D is 7 months today (crazy!). He is working on crawling but not quite there yet. Loves his doorway jumper, jumperoo and exersaucer. LOVES being outside. He's been to 2 hockey games. He is happy for the first period, falls asleep for the 2nd and then we usually go home when he wakes up. Some douche behind us kept making comments Sat night how he should be home, etc. I wanted to ask him his last name and be like, oh I thought since you had so many opinions, you thought you were his father. DH would have killed me though so I kept my mouth shut. He probably doesn't even have kids. D was completely happy and hanging out, so I'm sure why he thought it was such a big deal, but whatever!
He loves food now too and would much rather eat real food than puree's, but can't really feed himself yet. He is a master with the mesh feeders and baby mum mums though.
I think I may have a touch of PPD, and am going to my PCP on Weds so will discuss it then. We are hoping to start trying again late this summer though and I'm still BFing a little bit so I'm not sure I should go on anything. I will see what they recommend.
Heather did you ever think you'd be the first one on the list to have your baby??? Freaking Yay!!!!
Nope
My friend, who used to be a L&D nurse at St. Joe's, is calling her friends to see if any of the OB's at my practice have "better" reputations for surgical procedures. I'll be scheduling my c section at my appointment on Friday, and delivery day will most likely be either the 18th or 19th. I can't believe Shane's arrival is only 21ish days away.
I setup the PNP in our bedroom, so the dogs could get used to seeing it. Come to find out I'm the one that needs to get used to it as I've run into it multiple times when getting up in the middle of the night
Other than that, trying to check things off my to do list - I have got to get my ass to the post office to get the stack of thank you notes sitting on my dining room table in a mail box. I'm embarassed to admit how close to the post office we live. *-)

Mia LOVED her bottles too and was unimpressed at the start of cereal/food, I was quite surprised. Like others said, keep trying and eventually he will let you know when he is ready. Every new item we introduced took a while for her. She is very opinionated about what goes in her mouth and a drama queen if she doesn't like it...she will make herself gag. We're in for it when she gets older I think, lol.
Mia is now loving yogurt drops, which she still wouldn't eat a week ago. We met Sara & A at the park yesterday, fun times for the girls. A little boy hugged and kissed them, Mia's first kiss, oye. We are still battling sleep at night. Not sure if it's the teething or the standing up, but wow. Hopefully we will get back to STTN again soon.

I got to hold sweet, wonderful Brendan on Saturday. He is adorable and such a great baby. I was interested to see how Quinn would respond, he looked at him, said Hi Baby, and then ran off to play with Lily. So pretty much exactly how I thought it would go. It did make me more excited for August!
I had a couple of really bad days last week, Friday especially. But I'm doing better as of right now, so hopefully I'm on the upswing. Yay for 2nd tri!
Oh, and my #1 baby is officially registered for kindergarten. That's real school people. And he'll be 5 in less than a month. I almost can't handle it.
Amelia turned 13 months yesterday! She's getting her bottom set of 1st molars and its rough. I took her to the Dr today because I was afraid "teething" was masking something else because she ran a fever yesterday, but she looked good. Her gums are pea sized where the teeth are trying to break through and he said that can cause headaches and even ear pain.
Loska I still think I have a little ppd too sometimes because I get discouraged that I can't do more. Like work friends will text me and want me to work for them because they have fun stuff to do and I'm like "god I could really use the extra money and I'd love to go in and get out a bit, but alas I'm sitting in the glider for hours on end". I would have thought to not work would be the best thing ever, but I'm also not able to go to dinner or hop on my bike or hop in the shower at will too. So sometimes going to work sounds like the coolest thing in the world and I can't even do that! Thank god I love this little girl more than life itself or I'd be worried. I remind myself that and I remind myself of the joy she puts in my heart too and that takes care of it. For the most part I think it's pretty normal to have ups and downs when you add a child to the family, but feelings of sadness seriously suck. I hope your Dr can help. Will you update?
Kim how fun that you got to hold baby B! He looks absolutely gorgeous! How's mama doing?
I have a growth scan this week bc my doc said I'm measuring a week behind. Things hurt, I'm whiny. I feel like I am so unprepared. But I have not had a nesting urge yet. I don't want to move. Lol.

Heather- YAY for being at the top. Loks & Sara- IKWYM but mine is from BC. Ugh. Keep us updated... Kim- I cant believe you signed him up for Kindergarten. Time flies!!!
Lauryl is doing fab! She only woke up once last night at 4 am. That was soo nice! I love having my bed back too! Besides that, she is becoming a tummy time pro (she still hates it).
I bought an adorable little outfit at Gymboree today for Valentine's Day. I got it because she can wear it other days as well. See it here
In other news, DH and I were talking about possibly trying again soon. Crazy, I know. We still have to talk a little bit more about it first.

She was doing well, at least according to what I saw. She had on makeup and real clothes! I don't think I put on makeup or real clothes until Quinn's 2nd birthday. Ok not really, but you know what I mean.
Hi all! Thanks so much for the well wishes and all that. I'm trying to get caught up on responding, and well, everything. I'm going to try to get the birth story and photos posted in the next day or so, but the short version is that all went very fast but very well. My baby boy has absolutely stolen my heart. Such a lame cliche, I know, but I can't believe how in love with him I am. It was hard for me to imagine loving anyone the way I love my Lily (husband aside), and in some ways I think I didn't feel as much a connection to him before he was born because I was so preoccupied with Lily. But dam. It hit me hard. (heart)
Brendan's doing great. Sleeps a lot, and he lets me put him down to sleep, which Lily never really did. He doesn't sleep quite as well at night as he did during the day, but he's overall been pretty easy so far. Had his check up today, and he hasn't quite gained his birthweight back, but he's gaining and doing well overall.
Speaking of Lily, she's been doing fantastic, especially considering all the neglect. (Guilt!) I worried for MONTHS about how she was going to deal with being away from me and Khan overnight while I was in the hospital. She stayed with friends of ours who have a daughter the same age as her, so I knew she would have fun and all, at least during the day, but I worried about the overnight. Well, after the first night, she woke up and asked them if she could stay another night. We weren't even able to get them to stop playing long enough to visit her mama in the hospital! I missed her terribly, but I knew it was easier for her to have fun and be distracted rather than have to deal with seeing me in the hospital and then saying good-bye. So it worked out, and she surprised me, as she often does.
Heather, sorry about the C-section, though I guess it's cool that at least you'll get the benefits of a planned C-section. I agree with the advice about asking for pain meds, and do it before you're due for them. I found that pretty much anytime I asked for a nurse at St. Joe's, I waited at least 20 minutes before anyone came in. Except one nurse who I hated, the rest of the nurses were phenomenal, and my experience at St. Joe's was great.
Kim, OMG, kindergarten. They can't have my baby girl yet! I actually missed kindergarten roundup at Lily's school -- I was planning to go to it on Wednesday morning, but ended up going to the hospital instead.

I'm going to blame my hormones, but your comment about him stealing your heart makes me teary So excited for you!
Well, we have officially transitioned DD2 to her big girl bed. It went pretty smooth, as we had anticipated since she's been asking for 'bed' for the last couple of months now. She's also in the process of dropping a nap, which is no bueno. We always look forward to naptimes She is just growing up so fast. Tomorrow, H is taking her to see the preschool she will be attending come August. It's the same one that DD1 goes to. As for J, she's doing well. She's learning how to play the piano and knows "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" and "hot cross buns".
H and I might have agreed to start TTC#3 like ASAP. Lol!

On Monday, Beckett turned five. It still blows my mind that my baby boy can possibly be that old, and also that I've already been a mom for that long. We went to celebrate at Disney and had an awesome time. I was a little bit worried that all the walking with the bad varicose veins I've developed this pregnancy would be a problem, since they can be really painful on a day I'm barely on my feet, but it wasn't. It went great, and I'm not nearly as exhausted as I expected to be after 2 days of Disney with 2 little kids at almost 6 months pregnant.
I had a lady yesterday look at my belly and Beckett and Maisy and say "All I can think is, whoa, that's a whole lot of college at once!" Thanks, lady. That kept popping in my head all day. Not exactly what you want to be thinking about at Disney while spending money on overpriced food and merchandise
Unrelated, I guess it's time to began potty training. The other day, Maisy asked to use the potty, after having zero interest in it so far, and then successfully used it twice. She hasn't used it again, but she does keep wanting to try. Even though he started way earlier than Maisy is, the potty training process with Beckett was very long, so I'm thinking I need to approach it differently this time and hopefully it will be easier. I'd really love to have her out of diapers before the baby comes, but we'll see how it goes.
