Nobody else liked the cheese straws I made last night. I liked them, but I'll have to make the dough in the food processor next time.
We still don't know where our office is being moved to, the move was scheduled for February 20th. I am getting asked questions daily and have reached the "Just leave me boxes labelled with the date of the move and where the stuff is going so I know where to show up" point.
I'm going to a networking event after work and I think it's going to be too cold to wear a dress, exec with tights. The high today is going to be 59, but the low is 45.
I would also like to whine about the fact that my skin hates me. I am simultaneously dry, scaly and flaky AND broken out. It makes me want to hide in my house.
Oh and our water bill was somehow 331 dollars this month. It's been consistently $35 a month since we moved in. They are estimating that we used almost 1000 gallons of water a day?? They are coming out to reread the meter, it has to be an error because there is no way we used that much.
Even if our line was broken, we would see water in the front yard - right? 1000 gallons of water a day is ridiculous. We are only home and awake for 4 hours out of the day on the week days and we were gone a week at Christmas during this billing cycle.
OMG, DL. That's insane. Hopefully someone misplaced a decimal in there.
I don't have a whine, but here's my random... My eye is finally healing (I've had a huge, red, puffy, itchy, burning rash around my right eye since mid-December). I assumed it was the Christmas tree causing me grief or an eczema flare up or something, so I didn't bother to go to the doctor about it until last week. He said it was an allergic reaction. I looked through my grocery lists for the past 7 weeks and I found it. I bought new lotion the weekend this crap started up. I stopped using the lotion this weekend and the rash is almost gone already.
As a bonus, I got a prescription for Claritin. $18 for a 90 supply is so much better than the grocery store price (it was $25/14 pills 2 weeks ago).
I'll also join the skin whines. My cheeks are, again, suddenly irritated out of nowhere. I put moisturizer on them because they're so dry and there was immediate burning and stinging and they flushed red. Stupid fucking skin. Cortisone cream didn't help much either.

I'll sit on the skin issues couch!
My face has been broken out for what seems like forever. Nothing I've tried seems to work. I'm sure its stress, but I don't see my stress level improving much anytime soon, so I don't know what to do about it.
Also, my mom called me last night and when I didn't answer she left a snarky sounding voicemail that said "Its Mom, you know the number." I usually leave my phone in my purse and the ringer is usually turned off. She and I have talked about it before, so this is not a new thing to her. I'm not sure what she's upset about, but the tone in her message makes me not want to call her back.

My hand is making me worry a bit. It felt all tingly this morning (kind of like when you're arm goes to sleep), that faded a bit but recently it's been localized in my ring and middle fingers on my right hand. Every so often I'll get a quick jolt into my ring finger. I am hoping it's not carpal tunnel rearing it's ugly head. I should've asked my doc about it this morning (one of the docs I support is a hand guy), if it keeps up I will have to. Blergh.
I can't GBCN from work unless I use my phone. It makes me really sad. My new job is great but I'm in the corner of a corner office and my back faces my two roommates and the door. And I have a huge monitor now. FWP.
My head is killing me. I know I'm tired and if I get coffee or a good night's sleep it will go away but I'm kind of trying to convince myself I'm getting sick and need to stay home.
So a coworker came to get my boss for a coffee break and asked if I wanted some. I said thanks but no, brought my own, and gestured to my coffee thermos.
She didn't notice the coffee, but the lone can of diet coke I also brought, and started harassing me for drinking soda. She said it was the worst thing you could possibly drink, and if you put a tooth in a can of it the tooth would dissolve. Uh....so I just looked at her and said "it's the last vice I have left, so I'm going to drink it". And she was all "ohhhhh that's wonderful! STARS AND RAINBOWS" and whatever filler she usually uses.
I wonder what kind of response she was expecting. "OH MY GOD thank you for telling me, I had no idea!"

I have cramps and I think my body hates me.
I also think my job is screwing me,I haven't been getting paid for anything above my 20 hours that I am working even though I am sometimes stuck there until 5-10 minute after I am scheduled to leave because I got stuck on a call. I just checked the handbook and it basically said you can't even check your email without being paid so I am going to contact my supervisor and ask about this today.
And Gault, screw your coworker. I read recently (I think on GBCN!) that a tooth in plain ol' carbonated water will also dissolve. So keep your mitts off my diet dr. pepper!
My skin is also itchy and flaky, as it does every winter. It makes we want to move and get a really expensive facial. The facial is cheaper than moving, right?
PPD- Don't you dare work if you are not getting paid for it.
I have no idea what to make for dinner. Brad went to the grocery store on his own this week, so I have no idea what we even have in the cabinets. Can someone come cook for me please?
It stings at first, especially anywhere that REALLY needs exfoliation, but the stinging subsides fairly quickly. The instructions tell you to use a cotton pad. Since my skin is sensitive, I sprinkle some onto my fingers and apply that way. It's also good for elbows, heels, scabs, basically any flaky/dry skin anywhere.
