Did you swaddle your little one? If so, how old were they when you stopped? Cooper sleeps well in his I just didn't know how long to do it for. I'm just afraid that if we don't he'll be cold during the night.

You'll know when to stop, as he will continually try and bust out, but still be able to sleep. I tried putting Quinn down unswaddled and he wouln't have it. Then he started getting one arm out and sleeping ok on his own, then 2 arms out, etc. I think it was late summer before he was out of his swaddle and he was born 2/25.

Beckett loved being swaddled. We decided to quit swaddling around 4 months I think, because I was worried about him being swaddled forever, although at that point he was busting himself out. Once we stopped, he slept fine without it. I think we kind of phased him out of it first too. Maisy was born with a broken shoulder blade, so she had to be swaddled 24/7 for the first few weeks, so she was not a fan of the swaddle once we could stop. I'd say if Cooper loves being swaddled, don't worry about stopping yet. As Kim said, you'll know when it's time. Let him be all cozy when he's this tiny.
We swaddled like crazy. It was the only way Ellie would stay asleep at first. We stopped cold turkey at about 3.5 months because she rolled herself over in it and I freaked out when I heard her fussing and looked over and she was on her tummy in a swan dive pose to lift her head off the mattress! I figured that if she could roll over in it, she needed to have her arms free to lift her head. So we stopped immediately and she did better than I thought she would, sleep-wise. If she hadn't rolled over then, I had planned to try to start phasing it out at 4 months. She just beat me to it.
We put her in sleep sacks now if I'm worried about her being cold.

I swaddled Lauryl for a few weeks but she would always bust out so I quit. Here in Ohio, it is quite cold right now so she's either in nice, warm fleece footie pajamas or sleep sack.
I still swaddle Maddie and she just turned six months. She loves to be swaddled. There are nights when I just lay her down without it (especially when she falls asleep and I don't want to wake her), but there are still nights where the only way she will fall asleep is if she is swaddled. We swaddled MacKenzie until about 6 months. She was busting out of SwaddleMes big time where as Maddie still sleeps very soundly in Aden and Anais blankets.

Thanks ladies. I don't mind swaddling at all, especially if I know he's getting a good night sleep. I'm worried about when we stop and if he'll be cold st night. We tend to keep our house on the cooler side in the summer because my husband could sweat in a 70 degree room so I guess I'll be investing in some sleep sacks and making sure I have plenty of fleece onesies.

We stopped swaddling at 3.5 months I think and then we used the Magic sleep suit for another month or so. We used the fleece sleep sacks with the arms for a while and now we just do a onesie and pjs (sometimes fleece) dpeneding on the temp.
I didn't realize how many people swaddled! We never did, but Zoe was put in the harness for her hips at 2 weeks old so it would've been impossible anyway.
