NPR: I flucking hate drama

Last June I hired my friend's little sister. She was never a good employee, always texting, on FB, wouldn't finish all her work, etc etc.

I came back from mat leave on Monday and the owner decided to fire her on Tuesday. I gave her warning after warning, even told her she'd be fired if she didn't change, but she didn't listen.

So now her sister (who I've been friends with for 10+ years) has defriended me. I guess I'm just pissed because she's mad at me for her sister being a bad employee. And she has her FB profile locked so you can't message her if you aren't her friend.

I will NEVER hire someone I know again. This sucks.

She was never really your friend if she can treat you like this. Good riddance to the bad employee and thanks for the revelation of stupid friend.

Yeah... that blows. Shit, even I wouldn't hire my own brother, and I wouldn't blame anyone who did because the dude has issues. Too bad she can't have a little objectivity about her sister's work ethic, although repeated firings and unemployment stints may clue her into it. Then you'll see that little red circled 1 on your Facebook message indicator, and you'll discover an email along the lines of, "I was so blind... forgive me?"

Or not.
