how long have you and pinkwillow been friends and how did you meet?
You have a boat!? Clearly I should visit you.
We've been friends for a year or so. We met via our local board.. A few people from our local board are also runners and we all met up at a 5k. We actually just went to DC/VA/OBX together.
uhm.. well, we have a little jon boat that is perfect for MH & I .but it's currently for sale. One day when we are grown ups we'll have a "real" boat.

Ooh that is really cool about the first part!
As for the second, a boat is a boat, which is all fun in my eyes no matter how little or big. Let me know when you do get to upgrade and are willing to entertain, I can guarantee to bring one helluva one-person-party when I get there. :drink:

How do you feel about the ocean? Some people are squicky about the ocean and sea creatures

I love the ocean, I just don't get to visit the nicer parts very often since I am closest to Galveston which is pretty low on the totem pole of nice beaches/ocean front.
I don't get seasick or anything and at one point my parents owned a motorboat when I was growing up and we used to take it off the coast of South Padre Island every year! Sadly they don't have a boat anymore, but I am trying to convince them to get some jetskis which would be my preferred way to get around in the open sea.

Can't say that i've ever been to Texas, or any Texas beaches. We did look into going to Galveston right after we got married, but we couldn't make it work.
We had a jet ski when I was in middle school - didn't do to much ocean cruising on it. Mostly just on the lakes.

Well my brother does live on a sailboat, it's all the way out in San Diego. Let's just meet there in the meantime and raid his ocean space, it's way better than Galveston!
Oooh good luck on marathon training! I've done two and was hoping to get #3 in next year, but thanks to a knee injury, it's probably not happening.
Oh no! What fulls have you done? I have a chronic IT band/knee issue..Right now it seems to be doing okay. I use KT tape on my knee and it helps.
I dislocated my left knee (for the second time, although 12 years apart) about 8 weeks ago, so per the doctor and the physical therapist, marathons are out for at least the foreseeable future. I also had to have surgery for my plantar fasciitis last year, so I figured my days were numbered anyway....I took my running obsession and turned it into a hot yoga obsession, so I'm good...well, once I can get back.
I need to ask my PT about learning the KT tape. We use it during therapy, but I need to learn how to tape myself so I can get back to yoga.
ETA: I ran the Denver Marathon and the NYC Marathon.

That's awesome! How did you like DC? Where in VA/OBX did you go? (I am actually in NOVA)

DC was crazy! I from a tiny town in Central Florida - I've never lived in a big city so i was way overwhelmed, but it was fun! We were only there for about 24hrs - but we managed to see a ton of stuff.
In VA we went to Newport News -We ran an 8k there. We were there long enough to sleep & run, then we went to Outer Banks where we ran a half marathon. We got to OBX late saturday afternoon, ran on sunday.. We stayed in Kill Devil Hills right across from the Wright Bro Memorial.
