I do like getting dressed up when the circumstances warrant it.
I usually am not the one who is overdressed though, because I always worry about the line between overdressed and trying too hard (particularly when you're dealing with trendy places where people who look like they're trying too hard get turned away at the door). So I try to be properly dressed, but I go to enough places where dressing up is appropriate that I have ample opportunities to get at least a bit dolled up.
That said, I really, really, really need to buy more fancy and/or trendy restaurant and/or club/bar attire. I'm sick of pretty much everything I own.
I love getting dressed up, probably because I don't often get the chance to do it. Like @missusbee, I have a problem buying dresses (and heels) even when I don't have any excuse to wear them. Or, more likely, the excuses I have to wear the dresses don't match up to the dresses I have which means I just have to buy more dresses. Wheeee!
H and I had a black tie event last fall, and I was like a girl getting ready for prom beforehand. It was my first chance to wear a long dress since our wedding, and I loved every minute of it.
I do but I hate the actual act of shopping for dresses and trying them on. Once I find one that I like on me, all bets are off. I am all about hair and makeup and heels.
