There are 48 on my dad's side. My dad was the youngest of his siblings, I am almost the youngest of the 48. My oldest cousins are my parents ages. My oldest aunts & uncles on my dad's side are the age of my mom's parents. (well they would be but they are all dead). Several of my cousins are also dead - car accidents, Vietnam, etc.
On my mom's side there were just 12 of us. Mom was the middle of 3. My cousin Joe died when we were in our late 20s.

One on my dad's side who is in jail. Four on my mom's side, 3 of which I've barely met because my mom does not speak to her sister, 1 who is not even 2 years old who I am close with (well as close as you can be to a 2yo, she stays at my house for the weekend etc.) I am the only one in my generation who is married, but I'm also the oldest. One of my cousins does have a baby though.
86 on my Mother's side, I'd guess about 40 on my Dad's side. One of my mother's sisters has over 100 grandchildren. She had 13 or 14 kids and they all have 8-10 kids each. It's insane.
I am blown away by the idea of 1 cousin. Pretty much the same way my family numbers will blow you away.

4 on my mom's side (8 total if you count us) I *think* 11 (15 if you count us) on my dad's side but it may well be more. My dad had 5 siblings and because he was military we never lived near any of them so we aren't that close. I haven't kept up with what cousins were born after I was high school or college age.
On my moms side, 60 something. I lost count and don't know half of them. You add in second cousins and holy crap. My mom was one of 12, and my grandmother one of 8.
Not counting the four of us, I have 14 cousins on my mom's side and 11 (well, now 10) on my dad's side.
My parents were both one of six kids, and our family is the biggest and among the oldest on either side. The cousins range from 40 down to 5; my youngest cousin is actually a few months younger than my daughter. There are four of us who are married with kids, one unmarried with kids, and one now engaged. We all see each other fairly often.
86 on my Mother's side, I'd guess about 40 on my Dad's side.
I can't even imagine, lol. I had only one cousin until I was 25, and then my twin cousins were born 8 years ago.
I always joke that my extended family all live in TX because that's the only place big enough to hold them all. When you add in second, third, and fourth cousins, the numbers are staggering. We have a family reunion in June and I hope to get an accurate count at that time.
