HA! I never noticed that cjoy has a link to here as her sig! That's brilliant.
That thread is amazing. SOOOOOO much better than reading journal articles tonight (esp. since they're about teaching kids with ASD to communicate; they're probably just exaggerating too.)
I may be making this up, but wasn't there a period of time on the nest when new people were "sponsored" by a regular?
That was really stupid. Even if I made it up.
I remember doing that as a prank: announcing a new policy and naming myself mentor for a bunch of newbies. I told them they had to respond in a supportive and upbeat manner to all of my posts. A few took it seriously and really pitched in. I didn't have the heart to point out it was a joke :-)
(BTW: it is a great way to get more people to respond to your posts. Announce that you are their mentor and that they have to if they want to keep posting ;-) This thread comes full circle.
I assumed somewhere in Jersey or something. Anyway, that sounds awful. You should upgrade to The Villages in FL. Sarah Palin goes there sometimes and everything. It is a happening place with old people that travel exclusively via golf cart.
If you move to the villages, just don't have sex with the olds. STDs are running rampant there.

It's life in the fast lane down there, for sure, but worth the risk.
Lol! It could be because I am surrounded by senior citizens.I am 30 and I am in a retirement village.I used to be from fun and cool Seaside. Now,it's bingo halls.
I actually think it would be kinda cool to live in a retirement village. Is there shuffleboard? Group activities? I would sit around and bitch about the youth of today.
It takes awhile. Just keep posting in threads and don't get oversensitive.
We've all been thread killers.
We've all had no one respond to a post.
We've all pissed someone off a time or two.
We all (well most of us, anyway) have not been mentioned in the favorite poster threads.
This is a board full of women who have known each other for a long time. Newbies frequently come and go. The ones who stick around become part of a really great group, but they do it by not taking things too personally.
I was assigned a "big sister" on TTGP on TB. She was cool but I couldn't deal with the drama of the boards there so I wandered over to ML. I was in a sorority in college...once was quite enough for me.
Hey, I'm just happy to have achieved double-digit posts.
::smugly pats self on back::
Keep posting, 15 is still pretty sad. Is GBCN blocked at work? Or do you actually WORK at work? ::shudder::
I just gave GBCN a try here at the office. EPIC FAIL! I started spewing Diet Mt. Dew out of my nose reading the dead-squirrel-in-toilet post. I can't be spewing at my desk!
