I got an email from a dude this morning....I can't quite decide if it's clever and funny or teetering on the line of creepy.
I've been planning some capers that need someone (like you) to pull them off. If you wanna partner up in crime or just chat, just drop me a message back. We'll need code names, of course, 'cause all good crime plots have code names. Since I only know you from a paragraph or two, I'll have to do my best to match you with a name and just call you Mystery Girl for the time being. I, of course, will be called Mr. Suitor until you can pick my codename. You may also call me Mr. Wonderful if you'd like since that's how my henchmen address me. Hope to hear from you. You seem like someone worth investigating further.
Not necessarily creepy, but definitely lame. And generic- he probably sends the same thing out every time. I like a guy to include something that indicates that he read my profile.

This. I don't see it as creepy right off the bat but it's pretty lame. I wouldn't mind an e-mail about code names and partners in crime if we had been chatting a while and it was somehow relevant to the conversation. I generally don't like a guy who doesn't mention something in my profile even if it's just a short blurb.
I don't think it's clever really, but I don't think it's creepy either. Do you like his profile? If I was interested at all I would probably message him back.

I think it's kinda cute. He's trying to be different and catch your eye. If his profile is interesting to you, give it a shot! What do you really have to lose?

I thought it was kind of cute and original until I got to:

That made it sound way too generic. If he'd actually code-named you based on something in your profile, then I'd at least respond and see what happened, but this makes it sound like a copy & paste, and I wonder how many other people have gotten this message. :N:
