you've heard about this, right? 9 women out for a bachelorette shindig in a limo, crossing a bridge in san francisco when the limo bursts into flames. the driver and 4 of the women manage to get out, but the remaining 5 are trapped inside and die in the flames. one if them is the bride.
OMG No i didn't hear about that. That is just awful... how tragic. I cannot even put into words how awful that is. Those poor people... that poor groom
ugh, it is so awful. I am guessing the four were seated near the doors.
The article I read said at least one of the women who survived had crawled through the divider into the driver's seat and exited that way.
In Kansas City this weekend there was also a woman who was killed at her friend's bachelorette party. She fell through the emergency door on a party bus and was struck by multiple vehicles. She apparently had a 3-month-old and this was one of her first nights out since she given birth.
I'm on that bridge nearly every day (it's actually about 30-40 miles south of SF, FWIW) and I didn't hear about this until I read my FB feed a bit ago. Horrible stuff!! Heartbreaking. I feel so badly for the families.
By the time firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the fire, authorities found five badly burned bodies huddled near the partition that separates the driver from the passengers
i mean, i just don't understand. maybe the doors/exits were impossible to locate? how did one girl squeeze through the partition successfully and no one else made it? it's just crazy how quickly a fire can take over.
I wonder if they couldn't get the doors unlocked and so some had climbed out through the divider, as stated, but not all could make it. This is a terrifying way to die.

Based on the reports regarding the location and speed of the fire, I really think there just wasn't enough time to open the rear doors - either that the smoke was already too heavy to see the handles, or that the doors were already too hot/engulfed.
I can't imagine being the husband, waiting at the hotel, and wondering why all the ladies were late. Ugh.
