Take my answer with a grain of salt. I have yet to be pregnant. I heard which OBs were high risk in my area by talking to my regular doctor. Also, when you call an office, you can ask a receptionist if any of the doctors in their practice deal specifically with high risk pregnancies. As far as getting in with one, they make take you on as a patient on your word, but they might want a referral and your history before taking you on.
I'd start with asking around and seeing if there is one friends/other doctors/family might recommend. And go from there.

Did you look for a maternal fetal medicine specialist or a perinatologist? Those may yield more responses than high risk ob. Also, have you checked your insurance website for a list of specialist.
I am very sorry for your losses. I am not sure we are going to be able to help out a ton with what a high risk OB does on this board as the vast majority of us are still trying to get pregnant.
You are your own best advocate for you. If you feel like you need more care and your current OB/GYN is not taking your concerns seriously, then it is time to find someone who will. Another term for a high risk OB is a maternal fetal medicine specialist, try searching for that as well. If you can't find anything, it might be worth going over to the Bump and asking on the high risk pregnancy board if anyone is in your area or at least nearby. If there are none in your area, though you don't have infertility, you could also try seeking a reproductive endocrinologist and just asking if they would be able to help you. They often treat people with recurrent losses and might have something that can offer you comfort.
Hi gravy, I was also going to suggest a MFM like orangeblossom said. When we found out there was an issue with our daughter, my ob/gyn referred us to a MFM. He really ended up being my primary doctor and he had a lot of knowledge about high-risk issues. He also was well connected with other specialists (geneticist, pediatric cardiologist) so every time we needed to see someone new, his office was able to get us in quickly. It really helped having someone guide us.
So sorry for your losses and hope that you can find a doctor you feel comfortable with.
Hi Gravytrain. I'm sorry for everything that has happened to you. I followed Ethan's story on MMM but didn't know about your past m/cs. orangeblossom has some good ideas - a Maternal Fetal medicine specialist is who high risk mom's see I beleive (multiples etc). I'm wondering if HoneySpider has some info for you too. (ETA - she got there first!)
I personally would definitely be pushing to be monitored very closely for my next pg if I were in your shoes, bad luck or not.
Gravy, I don't have anything else to add. I just wanted to say that I followed Ethan's story on MMM, and I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. {{{hugs}}} Please stick around here!!
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm actually seeing a high risk OB and was just referred to him because of my health issues. Fight for your health though. If your current OB doesn't want to refer you, see if your PCP might have a suggestion, I've received my very best referrals to amazing specialists for all sorts of things through my PCP.
